"S-Sol..?" Eridan said as he inched closer to me. His eyes as wide as dinner plates, tears almost brimming the edges. His wide violet eyes shifted to Vriska.
"H-he shouldn't..." His eyes snapped back to me. "Y-you shouldn't be here, why's he here?!" Vriska ran up to the panicking Eridan and wrapped her arms around him. She pulled him close and whispered sweet nothings to him, kissing the very top of his head. I stood there, dumb founded. Last I remember they hated each other's guts.
Eridan drew in a shaky breath.
"I-I'm fine now..." he whispered to Vriska. "Thank you." He smiled. She smiled back down at the small troll.
Questions started arising, yet I went with the one I wanted most answered. "Where is everyone?" I asked, looking around. I was particularly trying to find Aradia, Feferi, and Karkat.
Eridan looked up at me, then away. He walked up to me, grabbed my hand with his shaking one. He began to walk, so I walked alongside him. Vriska came up to Eridan, about to say something.
"It's ok. I want to tell him." He reassured her. She nodded and patted him on the head. Eridan began to walk again. He took me through another covered archway.
My heart dropped as we entered the room. The feeling of death and mourning over came me as I stepped foot. There was a shrine. The shrine had flowers. There was a dark blue flower, a burgundy flower, a bright red flower, and a fuchsia flower. Each flower was in a black pot.
I looked down at Eridan who looked at the shrine, a melancholiac smile in his face. I knew what this meant.
"N-no..." I whispered, covering my mouth, shaking my head furiously.
"I'm sorry..." he apologized, his voice breaking as violet tears flowed down his beautiful face. "I-I'm so, so, so sorry, Sol." He fell to his knees, sobbing. "I'm sorry for how I was before. I'm sorry I was mean. I'm sorry, I messed up and now their all dead. I could have— I-I—"
"ERIDAN, STOP!" I shouted. He stopped sobbing and rambling and looked up at me. I sunk to my knees and grabbed his hand. He looked to me with tear gushing eyes. I felt tears at the edge of my eyes as well, yet I smiled reassuringly to him. Eridan calmed down, taking in a quivering breath.
"How?" I finally asked. He looked up at me, questioning. "How did they..." I trailed off.
"O-oh..." He shuffled closer into me so our knees were touching. He grabbed my cold hands in his small, warm ones. "This is going to be very...scary. I apologize but I cannot bare to tell you verbally. So," He smiled slightly, then press the palm of his hand against my forehead.
"I'll show you."
