Chapter 4

~Harry's POV~

I stare at the crowd, trying not to show my fear but probably failing. Why again did Simon think this was a good idea? It's been six days since Liam and I came home from the hospital and the world still doesn't know that I'm mute. We're supposed to start our tour tomorrow, and apparently at this interview we're announcing that one, the tour is being postponed, and two, why it's being postponed. Well this should be fun.

"Harry, let's go. Don't worry, alright?" Louis says, opening the door. Niall follows him, then I step out, followed by Liam and Zayn. I wouldn't be surprised if they planned for me to be right in the middle, honestly. Liam gives me a small shove and I start fighting my way through the crowd. One thing I always wonder is how the heck do all the paparazzi always know exactly where we are? I mean the only thing they haven't found yet is our actual house, thank God. But it's only a matter of time before they do.

I'm so deep in my thoughts I don't realize I'm in the studio until I walk right into a wall. I groan, rubbing my forehead where I slammed into the wall, and turn to see Liam smiling and shaking his head. "Lou is waiting... for us, come on." He says, grabbing my arm and pulling me down the hallway.

I've gotten more comfortable with the lads and Amy touching me, but not anyone else. Paul, Simon,  even Lottie, who came over a few days ago, I'm terrified of. It's ridiculous but it's like my brain isn't controlling my body. I really hope I'm not afraid of Lou, too.

"Hey Lux!" Liam says happily, and the familiar girl runs over to him, hugging him tightly. I sit down on the couch and Lux leaves Liam and runs to me, climbing into my lap and looking up curiously.

"Hewwo Hawwy!" Lux says happily, smiling. I smile myself and hug her back, wishing I could return her hello. But I can't put anyone in danger, especially Lux. And he did say anyone, not only some people. I can't risk it.

"Harry, come on." Lou calls from across the room, ready to fix my hair. Lux jumps off my lap and runs over to Louis, who is sitting on the opposite end of the couch from where I was. I walk over to the chair positioned in front of Lou and sit down, zoning out while Lou does her thing. I assume she tries to talk to me, even if it's only to get me to move my head a bit to the right or something, but I don't listen, instead deep in my thoughts. How on earth are we going to pull this off?

~Liam's POV~

"Hello, lads. I'm Marcie and this is Kevin, and we're glad to meet you." A woman says, shaking all of our hands. I can see Harry trying not to flinch when the interviewers grab his hand, but I don't think either of them noticed.

"Just wait for your cue to come out, and everything will go from there. Any questions?" Kevin asks, looking down the line at all five of us.

"This is a live audience, right?" Louis asks, poking his head around the curtain next to him while Marcie nods.

"Yes. There are quite a few fans of yours out there, as well as some regulars. If that's all, we need to go back out. Mark here will tell you when to come if you aren't sure." She says, turning and walking onto the stage. Kevin gives us a couple tips before joining Marcie on the love seat positioned almost center stage. There's a large couch angled toward their seats, one that's hopefully big enough for all five of us. If not, Niall can just sit on the armrest again or something.

"Here is the world's biggest boyband, One Direction!" Kevin announces, and the man called Mark waves us onto the stage. Louis runs out first, waving to everyone with a huge grin on his face before sitting closest to the interviewers. Zayn is next, walking more calmly out on stage and taking his seat next to Louis. Harry goes next, smiling genuinely and waving to everyone, but quickly growing uncomfortable as soon as he takes a seat. I sit next to Harry, giving him a reassuring smile, and Niall takes the last seat next to me, barely able to squeeze onto the couch.
