"Hey, Tan.. You okay?" Betty asked as she caught you by your locker."I'll be okay, Betty. Thank you, really.." You say, grateful to have a friend such as the incredible Betty Cooper back at your side.
"So, do you know your schedule?" She chirped, jumping back into her wonderful and glowing self.
"Here you go." You hand her your schedule as you finish decorating your locker and exchanging your books.
"Hey!" You heard an awfully familiar voice calling as you closed the door.
You turn around catching eyes with the one person you didn't expect to see walking the halls of Riverdale High School.
"Veronica?" You ask, shocked as you catch her attention.
She was silent, of course.
If she had been hanging out with Betty Cooper all this time, there was just no way this could be thee Veronica Lodge."Oh, you know each other?" Betty smiled, bright as ever.
"Uh, yeah.. We-"
"Oh, Honey. No need to talk to the common rabble.." Your new favorite red-head cut in.
"Cheryl! Betty is-"
"Easy Tiger, I wasn't talking about your friend. I was talking about this one." She teased, gesturing to Veronica who seemed to be collapsing on herself behind Betty.
"Actually, Honor-"
"Was just heading to class." You announce, effectively interupting the lovely, blonde.
"Walk me?" You ask Cheryl, who nods happily as she starts her journey toward your first class.
She spent the morning memorizing your schedule so she could perfect a couple scheduled meeting times through out the day.
School was okay.
You shared a class with Jughead and he invited you to lunch, but you had promised to sit with Cheryl.
You offered to talk to her and asked him to sit with you at lunch anyways."Maybe." He smirked, with a twinkle in his eye that said he wasn't missing his opportunity to bother Cheryl Blossom for lunch.
"Well, they are my friends.. I want to sit with them too." You say, your bottom lip slightly pouting.
"Okay, fine." She sighed in mild defeat as the two of you made your way to the parking lot.
You had ordered a pizza and the delivery guy pulled up right as you and Cheryl got to the front of the school, you had paid with your card, so you took the loaded pie to the courtyard to eat with your friends.
"Nice." Jughead grinned from ear to ear as he sat down and grabbed a slice. "Glad to see your appetite is still as tasteful as this pie, Tan."
"They still remembered my order from two years ago!" You smiled.
"Oh, sweet!" Archie smirked as he grabbed a slice and took a seat. "It's been too long since I had pizza like this."
"Don't I know it, Arch." You wink, biting into one very delicious slice.
"Where's Betty?" You ask the group as they enjoyed their food.
"Her and Veronica are up to something, I guess." Juggie shrugged.
"Oh." You frown but not enough for anyone to notice. "Cheryl, how's yours?"
Without warning she popped a bite of her vegan dish in your mouth, it was actually pretty good.
"Thanks." You laughed a little after chewing it up, causing everyone do the same.
"Betty Cooper!" You call cheerily as you catch site of her chasing after Veronica.
"Hey, Tan!" She sort of smiled as you caught her attention. "Can we talk for a moment? Just you and me?"
"Sure, Bits. You want the last slice?" You ask the blonde, nodding at Cheryl to excuse yourself.
"I'm okay." She smiled.
"Jug?" You were going to ask if he wanted it but he was already ahead of you.
He and Archie excused themselves as well, leaving Cheryl in peace while you were away.
"What's up, Bitty Betty?" You smile at the nickname, so does she as the two of you stand in the shade of a tree.
"What is it with you and Veronica? She's avoided everything I've asked about you." She sighed in defeat, poor Betty Cooper and her golden heart.
"Well.." You frown slightly. "I'm sorry, Betty. You'll just have to keep at it, it isnt really my place to go around broadcasting Veronica Lodge's dirty secrets."
"But-"
"We weren't exactly friends in school, she wasn't exactly nice-"
"I know." She chimed in. "She's told me almost everything, some stuff was pretty harsh.."
"Use your detective skills, Daphne Blake." You joked earning a slight smile from the usually happy girl. "She won't tell you what happened because someone here knows her true self.. I know she's guilty and I know the crimes, only she can get you her confession."
She bit her lip quizzically as she most likely thought up a plan.
"I'll get the truth." She decided with a nod. "Now.. I have to go find her."
"Good luck." I smiled, giving her a hug before returning to the table.
Cheryl had cleaned up and was playing on her phone while waiting on you.
"Sorry."
"All finished?" She smirked as she caught sight of you.
"Hopefully." You say with a roll of your eyes after you pick up your bag.
"So I was wondering, after school-"
"Actually, I made plans with Jughead. I'm taking him to get new shoes and then we're heading to Pop's for shakes and fries." You cut her off, not wanting to over book yourself.
"Oh." She stated in an unreadable tone.
"I'll text you when we're done shopping. Would you want to meet us for shakes and then you and I can head back to my house for dinner?" You ask with a slight pout, making her smile.
"You buying?"
"Well, Jug is broke so.." You tease. "What's your favorite?"
"Strawberry." She chirped happily.
"To each their own, I guess. Still, it's better than chocolate."
"So you're plain vanilla?" She teased back.
"Only my icecream." You wink, opening your locker door and exchanging your books for your last classes.
You caught her blushing as the two of you walked down the hall.
After school you, Jughead, and Cheryl made your way out to your car, you dropped her off at Thornhill for a while and went to the mall with your beloved, bad-boy, bestie.
