Your phone was on one percent so you tossed it on the charger and sped off toward your house.
You took a short cut through Southside to beat Cheryl, but your car battery mysteriously died, you were stuck and your phone was still dead. You were definitely somewhere in Serpent territory so you grabbed the jacket you kept hidden in your trunk and your phone before jumping out of your vehicle.
You lock the doors and tuck the key in your jacket pocket as you start walking, hoping for a miracle."A little thing like you shouldn't be out this late." A male voice announced from less than ten feet behind you.
You tensed up, your fists tightening as you thought of all the ways you've been taught to physically break him.
"He's right, Fitz. Little thing like you shouldn't be walking out here all alone.. How 'bout I take you home?"
Now that's a voice you knew unmistakably, you thought, spinning around as your smile reaches your ears and your eyes land on your favorite girl.
"Toni, what are you-" She cut you off with three long strides, connecting her lips to yours in a rough but short kiss.
Her hands held your hips as yours rested over her shoulders, keeping your noses touching as you looked into each others eyes.
"Long time, no see." You tease.
"Well, I thought you stopped running away from home." She teased back. "You're in Riverdale now?"
"Yeah, I just got back a couple days ago. I was on my way home but my battery died."
"Your dad here?" She asked, a little nervous if anything.
"Mom. She moved back about two months ago, Dad's in New York."
"You're lucky, you know?" She frowned. "You really shouldn't be walking southside alone, especially at night-"
"Well, I had no other choice. I figured anybody who saw the jacket would stay away and-"
"Any Serpents who see you are going to know your name?" She laughed. "The name doesn't exactly scare anyone but FP. Harry scares people not his brand."
"You think Dad wouldn't have the Serpents slaughtered if they hurt me?" You ask.
"Who's gonna do it? Serpents?" She laughed nodding to her bike as it finally came into view.
She must be on patrol tonight since she was out walking around.
"Patrol?"
"No, actually." She sighed. "A tip.. Somebody called your plates in on FP, but I was in the area with Fangs-"
"So you're my keeper now?" You chuckle as she hops on the bike and fires it up.
"Looks like it, Yorkie." She smirked, reving the engine after handing you a helmet. "Wyrm?"
"Home." You frown. "I have friends over."
"Not Lodge?" She sighed.
"No, not her." You assure before she speeds off to your house.
"Why am I dropping you off a block from your house?" She smirked when the two of you finally stopped.
"I don't know how to explain getting picked up and dropped off by a gang affiliate to anyone other than my parents." You shrug. "Do you think if I left my car keys with you, that you could get it in the drive by sunrise?"
"That depends, do you want it fixed first or just moved?"
"You can fix it?" You ask.
"I'll see what I can do." She winked. "Keys?"
You smile, handing over your key and fob as you took your helmet off.
"Thanks again, Hero." You sigh as you hug her.
"Anytime, Princess. If your phone isn't dead, call me next time?" She suggested as she kissed your forehead.
She walked you to your house so she knew which one it was and helped you hop the fence around back before she left to get your car.
You unlocked the door and hung your jacket up in the closet before walking to the kitchen, finding Cheryl and your mother cooking dinner.
"Smells good." You say, alerting the red-head, earning a smile from her as she worked.
"Where have you been?" You're mother asked suspiciously.
"My battery died.." You shrug having a seat at the island. "My phone was dead but I got a ride from a friend."
"Yeah?" She asked, straining the noodles.
"She's fixing the car and bringing it back in the morning." You let her know, ignoring her questioning again.
"Okay." She shrugs. "Go clean up for dinner.. Make sure you get your shoes out of the hallway closet?"
"Yeah, mom."
She was talking about your jacket, which means she most likely knew Toni had picked you up.
You hid the jacket under your bed when you got to your room and put on some cute pajamas after grabbing a quick shower, when you got back down stairs Cheryl was setting the table.
"Need help?"
"Maybe your mom does?" She smiled as Holden ran in asked her for help into his chair.
You made your way into the kitchen, helping your mom dish out food and take plates into the next room for the next couple of minutes.
You all sat down, your mom at one end of the table next to Holden and you at the other with Cheryl sitting between you and your brother.
"So how was your first day?" Your mom asked.
"It was okay.." You shrug. "I guess that Hermione and her daughter live here now."
"Oh." She paused, thinking for a moment before shrugging it off. "Cheryl, how was your day?"
"It was okay." The red-head sighed with contentment. "Honor and I got milkshakes after school."
"After I took Jug to the mall."
"Oh? Did you spend your entire savings on trying to feed him or just most of it?" Your maker smirked.
"Well." You laugh, as does your mother as you continue eating in silence.
"And then.. Uhm." Holden paused as he thought. "Fire truck space ship."
"That's some pretty forward thinking for a three year old." Cheryl laughed as the two of you help him pick up the toy room and tell all about his day.
"If it sticks maybe he'll get one of dad's buildings." You joke before throwing the last few toys in the box and turning out the light on your way down the hall.
"Night, Mom. Auggie needs tucked in." You announce as you and Cheryl pass by your mother's office.
"Goodnight, girls." She sighed as your head poked through the open door. "Thanks for watching him for a couple hours, I got a lot done."
"No big, what are you working on?"
"Just.." She scoffed, sorting through papers. "Just some land issues with your dad's properties."
"Southside stuff?" You ask curiously.
"Some, but he has land up to three counties over and no purpose for it, I'm.." She thought for a moment. "I'm just looking over everything for now. Have you talked to him?"
"Been texting him the past couple days but he's been busy on his own.." You shrug, earning a nod from your tired looking mother.
"Get some sleep, Kiddo." She smiled while shooing you off toward your room.
"You too." You smile, leaving her to her paperwork before dozing off in the middle of talking with Cheryl.
