(Disclaimer: Pictures are not mine. I do not own naruto or any of the other naruto characters. I only own Dalila and any other OC characters that may come into the story. Enjoy!!)
(Dalila’s POV)
“C’mon Temari! Just wake them up. We’ll be late if you don’t.” “Do you want to wake them up?” “No.” “Then stop complaining.” Hushed voices reach my ears. I can feel Temari reaching over, and her hand makes contact with my arm. “Lila, c’mon, you have to wake up, we’re leaving for the chunin exams.” I answer with an “Hn.” And try to fall back asleep. “If you don’t wake up I’ll eat all the ramen.” Kankuro’s voice teases. Immediately, I’m sitting up and glaring at him. “You wouldn’t dare.” I say darkly, dipping my head a little so that it casts a shadow over my eyes.
“I-I was just kidding!” Kankuro stutters. “Well, in that case, you’re forgiven!” I reply cheerily with a close-eyed-smile. They both sweatdrop, and then look behind me. I look behind me as well and see Gaara sitting up, glaring at his siblings. “Gaara, guess what.” I ask him while poking his cheek. “What?” he asks. “YOU’RE IT!!!” I yell before I fly out of the bed and run past Kankuro and Temari. I race down the hall and into the living room. I jump towards the couch and guess what, wait for it; I face plant on the floor in front of the couch.
Instead of getting up like a normal person, I just lay there and watch as Temari’s and Kankuro’s feet come into view. “Kankuro….. Pick me up please.” I say with a puppy face. Though it doesn’t work because I’m facing the floor. “Nah, I’m good.” “That’s what she said.” I sang. I hear him choking on, whatever he’s choking on. Then, all of a sudden, I feel something heavy flop down on top of me. I look up and see the purple face-painted idiot that I love as a brother sitting on top of me. “I suggest you get off of me, puppet-boy.” I advise. He simply shrugs his shoulders and ignores me.
Well then, I hope he has insurance. I tense my muscles and push up with my arms, making him fly off into the wall. “What was that for?” He exclaims, while pulling himself from the wall. That’s sad. I didn’t even add chakra. “That’s for not getting off of me. Now, if you excuse me, I’ll go take a shower and then we can go to the exam thingy.” He nods, still dusting himself off, and I race up the stairs.
I walk to Gaara and my room before opening the door. Gaara is sitting on the window seal. He looks over at me as I enter the room. “Hello, Gaara, howz it been?” I ask as I walk along the wall towards the closet. He just raises his non-existent eyebrows at me. I smile a close-eyed smile and a piece sign. He sighs, shakes his head, and looks back out the window. I turn around and open the closet. I pull out my regular outfit and head towards our bathroom. I close the door, lock it, and turn towards the shower. I start the water, wait for it to heat up, and then start stripping out of my pajamas. This consists of an oversized t-shirt, and baggy pajama shorts that reach my knees. I step into the shower and begin to scrub my hair.
I guess this will give me the time I need to explain a couple things. My name is Dalila Lupei and I’m 13 years old. I live with the sand siblings. The reason why Gaara and I share a room, well, it helps Shukaku keep at ease, which allows Gaara to sleep. But, we have to be close, so we just share a bed. Gaara and I are really close. I’m the only one he kept close to him since the accident. Ever since the day that I came through the village seven years ago, Gaara and I have been best friends. Cheesy, but true.
Well, with that explained, I guess I can go back to the present time. I have already finished washing my body so I stop the water and wrap a towel around my body. I step out of the shower and walk over to where my clothes sit. I dry my body and pull on my underwear. Then I pull on my black short shorts and black bikini top. Then, I pull on my black cloak and my knee high socks. I then brush out my hair and tie them into two pigtails on top of my head. I step out of the bathroom to see it empty. Must mean that Gaara left the room. Huh. Alright then. I go over to our bed and grab my knee high boots. I lace them up before grabbing my sword. I place my sword on my hip, and then pull on my fingerless gloves. I then tie my Suna headband onto my right arm. After that, I head down the stairs and see Gaara waiting by the door.
I walk up to him and he opens the door. We leave the house and head to the front of the Village, where Kankuro, Temari, and Baki-sensei are waiting for us. “Alright, let’s go.” Baki-sensei says as he leads us out of the village and through the desert. This will take a while. Konoha is at least three days from here. That is, if we keep walking at this pace. Gaara and I could easily make it there in no time, but that’s just us two. Well, we might as well get this stupidly long trip over with.
---------------------------------------------Time skip---------------------------------------------------
“Are we there yet?” I ask for the hundredth time today, not counting the other hundred times from the past two days. “No.” Baki-sensei replies emotionless.
“How about now?”
“No.”
“Now?”
“No.”
“How about now?”
“No…”
Silence.
“Now?”
“Yes.”
“Really?”
“NO!!! NOW SHUT UP!!!!!”
Looks like I finally got Baki-sensei to crack. YESH! VICTORY IS MINE!!! I sigh before looking over at Kankuro and Temari, who are silently laughing at Baki-sensei’s reddened face. I change my line of sight to Gaara, who has a small, ghost smile hanging on his lips. I slow down and start walking next to him. Then, I got the most amazing idea ever. I think about it for a second before deciding that it is worth it.
I ready my legs, and take off. Then, I jump up and land on my target. I immediately wrap my arms and legs around the subject. “Would. You. Get. Off. Of. Me?!” Baki-sensei questions as he tries to throw me off. Key word; tries. “NO!” Is my reply. He just sighs and continues walking. Wow. I didn’t expect him to give up so easily. But, still, I don’t loosen my hold. I can tell that’s what he wants me to do. Once he realizes I’m not going to loosen up, he just sighs again and walks up to the giant, open gate. How did I miss that?
Baki-sensei walks up to two of the guards who are, well, guarding. They both look lazy, but I can tell that they are very strong. “State your names, and your business.” They say, giving me a weary look. “My name is Baki, and these are my students. We are here for the chunin exams.” He looks at us and Temari sighs. She shows the guards her passport thingy as did we all, including Baki-sensei.
“Well then, go on in. Have a good time here in Konoha.” He guards say simultaneously. I give them a lazy wave but then grab a hold of Baki-sensei before he could throw me off. He grunts, realizing that his opportunity passed. He leads us through the village until we get to a hotel. “Get settled, I’ll be going to see the Hokage to notice him of our arrival. Don’t get into trouble.” He said the last part to me. I nod to him, and then let go and slide down to the floor.
Then, he disappears in the way only he can. “Well, I’m going to go out and wreck havoc! BAI!” I tell them before I run out of the hotel room, down the hall, and outside. I take a random turn down the road and begin my adventure.
