Chapter 55: My Reason

No one's POV

"Should I? Should I?" Boruto muttered around. He sighed as he rolled around his bed in frustration. He stayed at his room, completely missing the lunch that he prepared for his friends two hours ago and he never left ever since. An idea came to mind as he opened his window and quietly sneaked out from there and into the Hyuga's.

"Boruto? What brings you here?" He smiled at his grandpa as they walked to the backyard. "Heh? Where's aunty Hanabi?" Boruto asked as he wraps his hands with bandages preparing. "Well, she's a jonin now after all. She's very busy with her team." Hisashi replied. "Anyway, what brings you here?" He repeated rather questionably than the first. "I want to finish my training with you." Boruto replied seriously as he takes of his jacket and ran to the training field.

"Hmm? Are you sure that you can defeat me?" Hisashi threatened as he walks over the training field as well. "Aunty isn't here for me to fight so.." Boruto shrugged his shoulders as he readied his posture.

"Very well." Hisashi replied as he activated his byakugan. "My dear grandson, perhaps today is also the day I get to hear your reason." Boruto stopped as his last conversation with his grandfather came to mind. "My reason huh... Heh." He shook his head and smirked in response indicating to Hisashi that he has a full grip on what is the answer.

"Well then, tell me!" With that Hisashi attacked with his fist directly as Boruto. As his fist came contact, Boruto countered it with his own remembering exactly how his mother did the same to him which in turn, surprised the older man. "Who taught you how to counter it lad?" Hisashi asked as they fight, the sound of slash and palm hitting echoes throughout the compound attracting some of the members to watch the fight with interest.

"I analyzed how mom did and learned it by myself." Boruto replied as he weaved the shadow clone justus but stopped mid-way. "Why hesitate?" Hisashi asked. "I w-want to do it the Hyuga way.

"Haghhh!" Boruto screamed at he punched the ground with the help of the chakra surrounding his arm towards the ground shaking it. "This fight is really good don't you think?" One of the members commented.

"I agree. You can see lord Hisashi struggling. Perhaps his old age is giving him the disadvantage."

"Not at all." Hanabi cuts in as she watches the fight with a smile. "You can see in Boruto's eyes how determine he is to win. With Naruto-nee chan's tricks flowed in his blood, his son is also unpredictable as he is." Hanabi then smiled rather evilly at the members.

"Don't call my father that again. He may be old, but not weak." She stated viciously. The two members gulped nodding their heads multiple times in fear.

"While we're fighting, why not tell me you're reason why you are a shinobi." Hisashi swiftly dodges Boruto's attack and lunged his fist directly in his stomach. Boruto's eyes widened as he flips backwards into the air. As he landed back on land, he punched the ground once more. With the large rocks flying into the air, he jumps up high "Gentle fist!" With that, he swayed his palms into them sending them to Hisashi's direction. "Eight trigram rotation!" He blocked it but panted heavily after.

"I've always thought I am strong enough to protect someone," Boruto started as he charged in with another gentle fist. Hisashi quickly avoided it and countered it with his palms directly in his chest when Boruto slightly let his guard down for a second sending him a few blocks away coughing up blood. Boruto gritted his teeth as he stood up wiping his mouth. "But," Their hands both clashed once more.

"Maybe I was but every other time, I've always thought I was weak! But then, as I encounter things and endure hard obstacles on my path, I've realized that it doesn't matter whether you are weak or strong in order to protect someone." Boruto took a few steps back as he catches his breathe.
