•A/N: Hey again! So, from the start here I'd like to thank Mermaid200612 for requesting this; it means a great deal to me that you enjoy my stories! I hope you like this one, too!
Basically what goes down is this:
You're a waterbender, and one night, you have a terrible dream. Pretty simple! Your boyfriend, though, does something unexpected and inspiring when he's comforting you.
You come to find out his worst nightmare, as lame as it sounds, is losing you.

"Mom! Mom!" You tossed and turned, not realising what was happening. Lightning struck. Rain pelted the sides of the deck of the ship, overturning slowly in the monstrous waves. You heard cries, helplessness, and suddenly, light burst through the sky.
"Mom! No! You can't swim! Your bending won't help! Get Dad! He's the water-"
You heard your name. A protective, strong voice called for you. Thinking at first it was your father, saving your family from yet another tragedy, you smiled, only to open your eyes.
"{Y/N}." You heard a laugh. "That's an odd reaction to a nightmare."
"A...nightmare?" You raised a hand to your head. You could feel your pulse against your temple. You winced as a hand covered yours. "Mako, I had a-"
He kissed you. You backed away. He didn't like it, but he complied. "Nightmare." He raised an eyebrow. "A bad dream. You know, something not real." Well, he was partially correct.
"What time is it?" You turned your head to face the sunlight streaming in through the apartment windows. "Is it late?"
"It's well after noon." He shrugged. "I let you sleep. We don't have practice today, anyway." He tried to kiss you again, and once more, you backed away. "What?" He looked affronted.
"I need to take a shower." You shook your head, hair falling in your face. "We had quite a night."
"Oh?" He leaned forward. "We did?" He smiled. "I thought I bored you." You narrowed your eyes and glanced beside you. A tall vase filled with panda lilies and crisp, clean, blue water rested on the nightstand. You didn't think twice before using it on him. You leaned forward, too. Your lips met his before he backed away, irritated- slightly. "Hey!" You pulled back, retreating in an effort to clean yourself up after sleeping underneath a fortress of sheets, resulting in a very warm sleep, but didn't get the chance. A hand caught your wrist. "That was mean. It's not like I can burn you back."
"Water is the weaker element." You mockingly lowered your voice. "{Y/N}" You closed your eyes and stuck your nose in the air. "Probending might treat them all equally but you know fire is better. We both know I'm better."
"Shut up." You opened your eyes only to see another pair roll. "I never said that...exactly in that way."
"Mako." You smiled. "Let me go."
