Lord Chronus stared blankly at the sky. He was shocked by the sudden news. Queen Kayda, Lord Chronus mate, walked toward him in a shocked way. The same song ringed in the air.
"Let her stay, let her loose her life. Let her go, let her survive. The evil will arise, she will defeat."
Queen Kayda look outside to the night sky. Both of the moons were really visible. Orion, the northern moon shone beautifully. Scorpius, the southern moon, shone dull. Queen Kayda's crystal pelt shone blue with the moonlight.
"What are we going to doing? We can't send her away, right? She is burly a new born. Why would the Sky Oak send us a message? I am so confused. Do you know something Chronus?", replied Queen Kayda.
Lord Chronus stared at the sky for a few more minutes before responding. Lord Chronus, who was the king of Silver Eastcastle, knew everything. But this time he knew nothing.
"There is only one explanation, a hard one to believe, but I guess it's the only one. The Sky Oak, the most ancient oak, has responded with wise words, wiser that me. 'Let her stay, let her loose her life. Let her go, let her survive.' ...He means... He means the death lord, Apophis", said Lord Chronus, before walking away from the balcony.
Queen Kayda gasped. She couldn't believe that a snake, the evilest snake, Apophis wanted to kill their only daughter. She couldn't believe what Lord Chronus said. Both of them were under pressure. They neither wanted to lose her or let her die. Queen Kayda turned toward a small bed, where a newborn baby dragoness laid. What will happen to you, Sira? thought Queen Kayda. The Silver Eastcastle, where the Lord lived, was miles away from any clan. The closest was Ayndirth, and that was a week away.
"There has to be another reason. What if the Sky Oak is wrong? What if Apophis doesn't want to kill her? What if-"
"NO, Kayda! There isn't another reason! The Sky Oak is wiser than you and I combined. It isn't just a tree, but the only tree who survived the...the First Great Bloodshed... The only one. He knows what it is to fight Apophis. I wasn't even born yet. My father was there.", interrupted Lord Chronus.
Queen Kayda was scared. She had never seen Lord Chronus so angry. Purple smoke came from his nostrils. His eyes turned a shade of black. He was clearly mad at her for dishonoring the Sky Oak. He turned swiftly and walked toward the door. He stopped and turned to see Queen Kayda scared and shocked.
"The Sky Oak is never wrong. It hurts to send her away. Our precious little dragoness, but its something I can't even undo. We are sending her to Ayndirth. My friend, Bracken, might help us.", replied Lord Chronus.
"Can we-"
"Listen, Kayda. I don't want to hear it. Excuses wont change Apophis's mind. He is under Sira. We must protect her. Tomorrow morning, we are sending her away. Don't talk back, don't tell me anything. Good night."
Lord Chronus casted his eyes down and disappeared from view. Queen Kayda stifled a cry. She padded toward Sira. Her crystal pelt, the same as her mothers, shone the same shade of light as the moonlight. She was sleeping peaceful. Queen Kayda eyes watered. She still couldn't believe what Lord Chronus had said. Much worst she couldn't believe she had seen him so angry, especially with her. Queen Kayda curled around Sira. Her tail brought the sleeping dragoness next to her.
Lord Chronus and Queen Kayda said their good byes to Sira. A few dragons from the royal Silver Eastcastle guards carried Sira. They flew high above the trees. Lord Chronus looked toward the clear sky. Their figures disappeared from view. Lord Chronus turned around and went inside just to find his assistant, Leopardspot weeping, and rolling on the floor. He felt tears coming down, but he couldn't show weakness. Not when Apep is close to awake. He still had work to finish. He walked toward his throne room, where hundreds of royal dragons waited. He walked toward his throne bored by all of this. One of the dragons, the one who, Lord Chronus hated the most made his way toward him.
