Be The One For Me ( On Hold )

Chapter 2

   Night fell and I'm still taking care of Shelby. Both our parents were on the way home. After Shelby had fallen asleep I went to my room and did my homework. Half an hour has passed and not even a number was answered. My mind kept replaying how Alfred wanted to be my friend and the best part was....HE ONLY ASKED ME!! I may have looked calm on the outside but I'm having a celebration for being friends with him on my mind! And the best part was he gave me his number. ALFRED'S NUMBER!! Lots of girls would have died for this but he casually gave me the number like it was no big deal. We exchanged numbers by the way.

   I was smiling like an idiot when my phone buzzed, waking my up from cloud nine. When i saw what was on the screen of my phone, I threw myself to my bed like a total idiot. I couldn't believe what i was seeing. THE-TOTALLY-POPULAR ALFRED TEXTED ME!!! HE ACTUALLY TEXTED ME! I was so happy although what he texted was only," Hi there, how are you? " I quickly texted him back saying I was fine and how was he. It was only a simple text but my heart thumped 10x faster than earlier this morning. I couldn't describe how happy I was..we continued texting each other awkwardly asking random questions like " Where are you from? "  or " Where did you go for primary? "  until my parents got home and the whole family looked after Shelby.

   The next day I could barely sleep, I was smiling over a text from ALFRED!! I was like omygossshhhhh!! HE TEXTED ME!! There's a black circle under my eyes of lack of sleep, and by the way Shelby seems fine now and ready to get to school! I parked my car on the parking slot near a white sports car owned by the cheerleader, Maureen. She was a total bully to nerds! And i hate her a lot but considering there are no other available spots I was forced to. Maureen who was really close with Shelby hated me, her friend's own cousin! Well, I hated her to so it doesn't bothers me at all. 

   Alfred greeted me on our way to our first class, English. And yes, we walked side by side! I felt my heart thumping at a very dangerous speed every time he said a word to me! 

   I looked at everyone in school at he corner of my eyes. They were whispering, defnitely about Chelby and Alfred walking along the corridors together. Then, I noticed one of the crowd who were obviously gossiping loudly about how I could be so close to the second most popular boy in school was Shelby, apparently, she was the on who started gossiping. I mean, how could she?! As far as she knows I hate being gossiped and as far as I know she wouldn't do anything that would oppose me. I was shocked.

   I stayed still as a statue, shocked at how my own cousin was the one who started making gossips about me. And most of the gossips which were spreading around really fast were a big fat lie! It was about how I confessed to Alfred and was rejected but I forced him to be my friend by crying! Okay, I know. You must be thinking how I overreacted on a small matter, but still, I didn't want to be thought of as a crybaby!  

   I came to my senses when Alfred tapped my shoulder and I jumped. Yup. You heard it. I literally jumped. And I realised that when I was in the parking lot, Shelby dragged Maureen to school as fast as she could to start the gossips. It was really unexpected for Shelby to do spread gossips about me by using her and Maureen's popularity. She always looked innocent in front of me, and I wondered what the heck was her reason to start gossips about me. Have I done something really fatal to her? I'll have to ask her.
