Chapter 5

*Chelby's POV*

   As i thought, i could never be mad at Shelby..Aaaaarrgh! i'm such a softie!! This morning she came to my room with puffy red eyes and a stuffy nose which meant that she had been crying.

  I had never been good at handling tears and she knew that, wow, she's smarter than i thought.

   Now, i'm in the parking lot of the school while waiting for Shelby to finish re-putting on her make up in my car. I hate myself for being so soft.

  '' I'm done,'' Shelby told me as she got out of the car, I just can't help myself to be amazed by her. She put on her make up so perfectly that I couldn't even see her nose red from crying, I've never  been good with makeup. It would end with me having colours on my hands.

   '' Let's go,'' I said after locking my car.

   The gossips about me in school were still like a blazing fire, everyone was still talking about it. So when Shelby and me walked into the school, everyone was staring at us, most likely me. Damn.

   ''Chelby, Alfred's there, you can cry for his pity now,'' Maureen, who i had not seen today, mocked me. I just stood silent, knowing that if i react, she would mock me some more.

  '' Maureen, shut up. Its rude to talk like that,'' a voice from beside me caught my attention, it was Shelby!! 

   I was definitely shocked, who would have thought that Shelby would stood up for me? Maureen, who was now in front of me, also seemed as shocked as i am.

   '' What did you do to Shelby?!?!?!?'' she asked while also yelling at my face. She was so angry that her face was red.

   '' She didn't do anything to me. I just thought that being friends with a girl like you, make me sick,'' she replied for me. Disgust was clear in her tone. What had happened to Shelby? she was the bitch yesterday and now? she was totally being a good goody.

   '' Whatever, you'll regret not being friends with me anyway,'' Maureen replied before storming off.

  '' Chelby, I'll go first, 'kays?'' she asked me with a cheeky grin on her face. Does she have some kind of plan? ah screw that, maybe i should just trust her, but then again...can she even be trusted? i'll just keep up my guard for a while.

   I nodded before she stormed off to her locker to grab her books.

   Realizing that i was almost late, I ran to my locker to grab my books and dashed to my first period class, Mr. Eddie's social studies.

 '' You're late, Ms. Rowalds,'' Mr Eddie greeted me as soon as i reached class. I nodded and he just sighed, signalling for me to sit.

   I spotted Ashie quickly sitting at the back of the class and i quickly rushed to beside of Ashie.

   I sat down quickly and started to take out my books and soon I was already copying the board on my notebook. I was silently copying when a note was passed on to me.

   I opened it and read it quickly.

'' Hi, lets have lunch 2gether and btw, ignore the cheesy rumours, they're not worth your attention. You seemed down lately, cheer up! ;)                     -  Your best friend 4ever & always, Alfred. <3''  was what was written on the note.

   A blush and a wide smile crept up to my face and now i just look like a maiden in love. Oh my gosh, he put '<3' beside his name and he was worried about me!!!! I mentally freaked out, and only because of that. Guess i'm just a sappy romantic.

   Although it was a bit saddening for me when I read the sentence,' Your best friend 4ever & always,' It meant that I would be his best friend for forever right? gah! think positive, I'll just make him like me, if i can, by the way. Btw he and Ashie are now my totally bestest friend.

   I just can't wait for lunch..
