Chapter 5

The next morning - well it was more like the next afternoon is when I

finally got up. We had gotten home from the concert at about 1 or 2.

And Nick had led me directly to the guest room I'd temporarily moved

into and staggered next door to his room. I heard him practically

collapse onto his bed through the thin wall. I don't even think he

changed out of his concert clothes. When I did finally get up though

it was mere moments before Nick came out of his room. We collided in

the hallway both headed for the bathroom.

"Good morning." Nick said with a sleepy grin. I laughed a little.

"Nick it's late afternoon you know." I said sneaking my way past him

to take the bathroom first.

"Oh..." He said through the now closed bathroom door. "Hey wait a

minute. I was headed in there!" He had finally realized what had just

happened.

"Well slow poke you're just going to have to wait your turn." I

hollered back at him. I heard him heave a big sigh as I went about my

morning routine.

"Did you have fun last night?" He asked after a few minutes if

silence. But by then I was finished in the bathroom and opened the

door to face him.

"I did..." I said cautiously, "Nick? Why did you do that last night?"

I asked staring into his sleepy brown eyes.

"Because there's this girl I'm in love with and I wasn't sure how else

to tell her that I loved her." Nick said looking right back into my

eyes.

"I think you might have broken alot of hearts last night, Nick."

"I did? Who's?" He asked seriously.

"All those fans who believe their in love with you when it's so clear

that you are head over heels for me." I said half teasing him. Nick

nodded, "Your right, poor girls. It's just not fair is it?" Nick said

teasing back. I smiled.

"Nick - to be serious though. You have a way to tell me your in love

with me. But I can't sing so that doesn't help me and how I feel for

you. But I think I can show you." I said and stepped closer to him. I

stood on my tippy toes and wrapped my arms around his neck and tugged

him down a bit to more my level. I continued to look him in the eye,

telling him what I was going to do without words. I drew close to his

face until our lips were finally touching. Nick's arms went around my

waist to pull me closer and deepen the kiss. Then there was a cough

next to us and we broke apart. Joe and Kevin were standing in the

hallway next to us grinning. Nick laughed nervously and I could feel

the blush in my face deepen quickly.

"You guys are kind if blocking the bathroom and there are other people

who need it." Joe said.

"Yeah, I don't think you guys are getting much use out of it right

now." Kevin added.

"Actually I was just about to use it since Mandy's done now." Nick

said his smile was larger than life. He let my waist go and I

reluctantly removed my arms from his neck. He brushed past me to enter

the bathroom and I scurried past Joe and Kevin back to my room. I

don't believe I've ever been more embarrassed. But then again I was

confused on why I was embarrassed in the first place, I'd known Joe

and Kevin as long as I've known Nick, obviously since their brothers.

I went to sit on my bed and began to wonder what was going to happen

next.
