Am I pretty?
Am I beautiful?
Slender figure.
Clear skin.
Ethereal face structures.
Healthy hair.
She asks herself,
"Are these the principles
of standard beauty?"

Am I pretty?
Or am I ugly?
Looking at that reflection,
In the depths of the mirror.
Soon the smile on her face,
Deceased.
Never found again.
Instead,
A dislike expression
Replaced the smile.
"I am disgusting, aren't I?"

Am I pretty?
"Yes, darling, you are."
Her mother often tells her.
But deep down,
She's desperate to perceive
The honesty in her mother's words.

Am I pretty?
She observes her.
And proceeded to shake her head
In disapproval.
The girl sighs in disappointment.
When will the judgements
Be at ease?
