He looked at his father and tried to find as simple words as he could, "I want her by my side, I don't know for how long but I want her."
"What if I don't approve of it?" his father keenly observed his facial expression, there was the storm brewing in his son's eyes.
"Why would you do that?" Leonardo breathed.
"Anabelle is a sweet girl, she is already going through strict changes by her parents, don't you think she will be hurt in this process when you are not even sure if you plan to be with her in the future?".
"That is because she has not been in a relationship with a guy ever, this is the only reason she is reluctant to give this a go," he stated.
"Leonardo, we are discussing your stubbornness which involves a human being who clearly after today's horrible experience would even run from your shadow." Alexander senior growled at him, he had got the result for which he initiated this talk with his son and it was clear that his favorite son would definitely harm that girl.
"I am willing to change then," Leonardo looked at his father expectedly. On the inside, he was getting frustrated that his father was getting involved but Leonardo would play nice because right now his father held the authority.
Alexander gave him the calculated look and tried to distract him, "you are just twenty-five, I don't want you to get distracted by the things which will be shameful for you, later on. You made a commitment with me just a month ago that you will go to New York and handle business there with your brother."
"Yes I remember this father and when have I ever backed out from my words?" he pointed out.
"Then you must know that next week you are to go to New York, take Rosaline with you, Alex is asking for her." his father told him his decision with a finality.
Leonardo rose from his place with a determined and calm face he said, "I will do that father meanwhile Anabelle should not be involved with any other male, please." he pleaded at the end.
Never in Alexander senior's life, he has seen his son plead with him for something or someone, he was, to be frank surprised and his love for his son won at the end and he said, "I will make sure she will be waiting for you son, alright?" and that brought a hundred-megawatt smile on his son's face that clearly shook his heart.

Anabelle after returning from Rosaline's home locked herself in her room, she cried and sobbed silently, she cried for her mother, she cried for tonight's horrible experience. She cried for being taken lightly by her stepmom, her father, and Leonardo. Her decision to get out of here was made, she was scared by Leonardo, what if his father had not interrupted what would have happened then. She slowly got up and took a bath, she did not miss the look when she saw herself in the bathroom mirror, her face and eyes were red and her wrist showed pink bruises when she was held down by that monster.
The next day Alexander senior after a long discussion with his wife Elsa paid a visit to Anabelle's home to meet with her father, no one knew what conversation was held with Mr. and Mrs. Alfio in the private study room. Lisa kept a happy face but inside she was boiling with anger, "How dare that low life got to attract that Leonardo boy!" she seethed inside. She had planned that her younger sister Carolina should get married to Mr. Alexander senior's eldest son Alex, as Carolina had stated her love for Alex several times, but for Alex, she was a good friend, never mind she will get her anger on Anabelle that was for sure as she was not in a position to argue because The Ambrogios was a force to be reckoned with.
The decision in form of a deal was made, which benefited both families and nobody bothered to ask Anabelle what she wanted.
