Chapter 13

Alexander and Leonardo were sitting on the veranda, discussing new projects, because Alexander and their father had to prepare him for looking after the family business. They both had to go, New York, tomorrow.

"Leo, you have to get that land in Manhattan for our new warehouse, I can do that myself but father says this will be your first test," Alexander said handing him the drink.

"Don't worry big bro I won't let you down" Leo gave him an answer while looking at Anabelle.

Alex saw his attention was towards his fiance who was conversing with their cousins, he shook his head," as usual you are being an asshole." he huffed and sat beside him.

"What! hey, what did I do now?" Leo exclaimed by fully turning towards Alex.

Alex took a sip and asked, "what would you call your feelings towards her?"

"Ah man, you know me I am not declaring my eternal love for her because when it comes to relationships I suck so I know my obsession has meaning, this is the first time I made someone a part of my life and gave our relationship a name, but mind you this all is from my side, she had not agreed to any of this." Leo took a swig while looking at her, "I am becoming borderline crazy for her".

"Yeah, she is worth the trouble..." Alex said in a daze. His eyes fixed on Anabelle.

"I sense a But in it "?! Leo saw his brother's fixed eyes on her and asked in bewilderment.

"You did not handle that British deal just because you were here chasing after her when you promised father after completing studies you will join me in New York. Thank God I was there to handle that, otherwise, father would have skinned you alive."

They both chuckled.

"Tell me have I made the correct decision? what do you think of her? " Leo asked his brother.

"I appreciate your choice, she stirs both feelings of ravishing and protection," Alex said while looking into his empty glass swirling the ice in it.

Leo was quiet for a few seconds he looked at his brother and then at his fiance, he exhaled a deep breath.

"If I am not there with her in the future, promise me, Alex, you will look after her."

"What the fuck is that suppose to mean, of course, you will be there." Alex's said with a stern voice.

"Alex, I can not share her with anyone and I won't be happy if she is happy with any other man but you are my brother and I don't mind if after me you can look after her."

"Stop with this shit-talking or I will beat your ass up, you have consumed alcohol more than you can handle so you are talking shit you don't know."

"Remember brother I would rather have you in her life than any other man, it will keep my soul in peace," Leo said in a serious tone.

Alex just picked a cushion and threw it right at his face, "Retarded bastard."
Leo laughed loudly.

Anabelle's attention was diverted towards Leo and Alex who was beating Leo with a cushion while Leo was laughing wholeheartedly. She thought while looking at Leo, "How come that God fulfills his every wish, why he is always the winner."

Rosaline was showing her family album to her, Alexander senior had a sister Stella who died five years ago due to illness, she had two children Luca and Angela and Elsa had an older brother Giovanni who had three children Romano and Antonio and Sofia. Romano and Luca were of the same age as Alex and Leo whereas Angela, Antonio, Rosaline, and Maximus were a few years younger. Sofia was the cutest giggling twelve-year girl Ana has ever met.
She met all of their cousins just yesterday at her Engagement party.
After some time the butler announced dinner and everybody stood up to go to the dining table.

Lisa and James were having dinner in their own home, Lisa looked at the wall clock and said, "It is late, Anabelle should come home now."

"Lisa these people that we are getting ourselves involved with could make and break our lives, so treat them wisely," James said.

"Yes, I understand I was just anxious for her, you know she doesn't know how to treat people and when to say no," She tried and another tactic.

James slowed down a bit and looked at the time on his cellphone, sure he wanted business benefits and Anabella proved to be the greatest asset of his life to using but knowing Leo's notorious nature, that guy cannot be trusted. What if he takes advantage of her and then gets bored and discards her?.

"Alright, let me call her." He said.

"Ana, sweetheart you doing good there? Are you coming home? Aha Leo is going to drop you, that's good. Alright, see you in a few, bye." James ended the call."She is on her way home."

Leo and Anabelle were sitting at the back of the car, Robert, Ambrogio's driver was taking them to Ana's house to drop her off.
Leo took her hand in his and stroked her rings, he was thinking how can she make her easy for him to make her his, of course, James and his father pulled all the strings but she was eighteen and few months old, he wondered if her father blackmailed her with something else.
Anabelle becomes tensed, "Ana I will go, New York, tomorrow, I want you to think about me in a positive manner, I am not a bad person but if you are trying to mess with me, you will wish for death. I promise you that."

Anabelle took a sharp breath and wondered if he is having someone spies on her.

"I don't know why you thought the need to remind me that, I am fully aware of this blackmail and tantrum of a grown-up guy just because I refused to be played." She said while looking at their joined hands.

He chuckled and said, "tantrum you say ?! I am giving you my love, time, and money, what else a woman could ask for ?"

"What about trust and loyalty," she snapped. "I saw numerous names of a woman linked with you and the current flavor of yours on an online article."

"Are you jealous?!" he asked excitedly.

"What?! this is the only reply I am getting from you?" she was shocked.

"Don't ponder on these articles, they are baseless," he said as they stopped in front of her house, she knew he was going to say something else but he received a call from some lady greeting him in a sultry voice, Leo just said goodbye to Ana.

As he dropped her at her gate, she wondered why he did not assure her of his trust and loyalty and who was the woman, God she has to think fast and run from this crazy situation, she can not live with this unfaithful guy. Her father's unfaithfulness was enough for a lifetime.
