Chapter 9

*a few days later*
<Amanda Paul's POV>
Justin and I just signed Aj out of the hospital and are on our way to the Team 10 house. I was seating in the back with Aj, while Justin was driving. "Ugh. I hated being at the hospital." Aj whined. I giggled and shook my head. Aj looked over at me. "What are you laughing at?" He asked. I looked over at him again and laughed once more. "You." I said. Aj rolled his eyes and playfully pushed me. We were laughing so much. "Where are we going?" Aj asked. Justin looked at me through the mirror and smiled. "You know how my brother Jake is the owner of team 10?" I asked Aj. He nodded, getting excited. "I sent him some videos of you singing and he wants to meet you." I said. He looked at me in shock. "Are you serious? Oh my god. Amanda please tell me you are joking." He said freaking out. I laughed. "I'm not joking, bud. I know how much you wanted to be on team 10. You deserve to be on the team. So I just talked to Jake about it and he agreed." I said. He hugged me and thanked me. We pulled away. "Guys we are here." Justin said, parking the car in the garage. We got out of the car. Aj walked over to me. "I'm so nervous." He said. I rubbed his arms and grabbed his hands. "Aj you are going to be fine. Relax. I'm going to be there with you the whole time." I said. I walked into the house. "Honey I'm home." I yelled. I heard running from everywhere. "Baby sis. Oh my god I've missed you." Jake said pulling me into a hug. I laughed and pulled away from the hug. I gave hugs to everyone else. "So guys, this is Aj Mitchell." I introduced. Everyone said their hey's or hi's. I introduced him to everyone else. "So Aj, my little sister here tells me you can sing?" Jake said, as everyone went to do their own thing. Aj looked at me with nervous look on his face. I nodded at him. He looked at Jake and cleared his throat. "Um. Yes I do sing." Aj said, nervously. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it, letting him know that he was doing fine. "Amanda's piano is right here. Can you sing something for us?" Jake asked, pointing to my piano. Aj nodded. We walked over to the piano. Aj and I sat on the piano bench and I started to play 'Used to Be.' He looked at me. I nodded and he began to sing. He looked at me every once in a while. I smiled up at him, letting him know that he was doing great. We finished and heard clapping. I looked at him to see that he was already looking at me. I giggled and hugged him. "You did great." I whispered. We pulled away. Jake looked at us and smiled. "Amanda, Kade, Nick. In the office for discussion." My older brother said. I looked at Aj and saw that he was scared that I was leaving him. "Hey. You're okay. Justin's in the kitchen." I said and walked towards the office.

<Aj Mitchell's POV>
Amanda and I finished. I heard clapping and smiled. I looked down at Amanda. She looked at me and giggled, pulling me into a hug. "You did great." She said and pulled away from the hug. Her brother looked at us and smiled. "Amanda, Kade, Nick. In the office for discussion." Amanda's older brother said. Amanda stood up and looked at me. She saw that I was scared that she was leaving me. "Hey. You're okay. Justin's in the kitchen." She said and walked towards the office. I sighed and walked into the kitchen. I saw Justin and went to sit next to him. "Hey Aj." Justin said. I waved and started to shake my leg nervously. I'm so nervous. What even they don't like what I did? What if they don't like me? Ugh. "Aj. Aj. Hello?" Amanda said, waving her hand in my face. "What?" I said. She smiled at me and nodded. My eyes went wide and jumped out of my seat. I hugged her and she was laughing. I was laughing and crying. "I told you, you would be fine, love. You did it." She said. I smiled and hugged her again. She laughed and pulled away. I walked over to Jake and he hugged me. We pulled away. "Welcome to the team, brother." He said. "Thank you so much." I said. He pointed to Amanda. I gave him a confused looked. "Thank her. She was the one who thought of bringing you and showing us your talent." He said. I looked over at her and hugged her for a third time. She giggled and pulled away from the hug. She grabbed my hands. "You deserve to be here. It's where you belong. The world deserves to hear your talent. You are an inspiration Aj. You even inspired me to start singing again." She said. I laughed and cried again. She went on her tip toes and wipes my tears. "You're so cute." I said. She smiled and looked down. She looked over at someone and sighed as he walked away. "I'll be back." She said and ran after him. I looked at Justin confused. 'He's the ex she's still in love with.' He mouthed and rolled his eyes his disgust. I ohhed. I walked outside and sat on one of the couches.

<Amanda Paul's POV>

"Nathan. Wait." I said and got a hold of his arm. He turned to me, tears rolling down his cheeks. My heart broke into a million pieces. "Amanda. I can't do this I can't do us anymore. I love you and I know you love me. But the way you look at him, isn't the way you look at me." He said. I was shocked. I didn't know what to say. "What are you talking about Nate?" I asked. He wiped his tears and looked at me in the eyes. "The way you look at Aj isn't the way you used to look at me. I can tell you love him. I know you want to be with him, so I'm going break this 'thing' we have off because you deserve someone better than me, you deserve him." He said. I just nodded and walked back to the house.
