Going up every floor made my nerves a little more heaver.  I could feel my hands starting to sweat and I balled them up in fists that my knuckles popped. Niall noticed and spoke up.

“Don’t be nervous, as long as you preform like you did at the park you’ll do great!”

I nodded but still kept staring at the elevator floor. These people think I’m amazing, but right now I’m thinking, I’m in an elevator with five ‘aliens’ and they are taking me to see their leader. What if I messed up? What if Simon didn’t like me? How would I react? How would the boys react, would they protest or go along with Simon? I didn’t want to think about that right now but it seemed like the only thing I could think.

The elevator dinged and the doors opened up. We all stepped out and walked down a nicely decorated hallway. We arrived at a pair of double doors and Louis held up his hand to stop us.

He knocked. “Uncle Simon?!” he said song-fully.

There was a stern voice from behind the door. “Louis, I thought you all should have left by now.”

“We were but Paul was running really late and we have someone who we want you to meet.” he replied smiling at me.

“Whatever, come on in.”

Louis opened the doors and I was led into a huge office. It was laid out like most offices, chairs in front of a desk, but these chairs looked very comfy and the desk looked like something fun to hide under in a game of hide-and –seek. The office was neat and clean and had records hanging on the walls. A large window looked out onto London and in front of that window in a large chair, behind the desk sat the ‘aliens’ leader. Simon.

He looked up from his papers and scanned us. Apparently we were all standing in a line facing him. I saw out of the corner of my eye that Harry, who was next to me, was smiling so I smiled as well. Simon’s eyes landed on me and he looked confused.

“Can I help you?” he asked.

“Um-“  I stuttered and looked to the boys for help. They got my message and spoke up.

“This is Addison.”  Louis said excitedly

“She is an amazing singer.” Said Liam

“And she’s a musician.” Niall added

“Do you think you could take a listen?” Harry asked and they all agreed.

“Maybe, but let the lady introduce herself.” Simon said looking at the boys sternly and they hung their heads.

Simon looked at me making me feel like he was looking right through me and studying my thoughts. But I took a deep breath and spoke up.

“Well, my name is Addison Taylor and I’m seventeen years old.” I said smiling trying to hide my nerves, but I knew that would only make it more obvious.

“The lads say you can sing is that correct?” he asked

“Yes sir.” I nodded

“And you can play an instrument?”

“Yes, guitar and piano.”

“Would you like to show me what you can do?”

“Um, sure!”  I said and looked to the boys; they nodded and gave me thumbs up.

I realized I left my guitar in the lobby so I pointed over to the piano in the corner and looked to Simon for permission. He nodded once. I took a few stiff steps and sat down on the cushioned bench in front of a white grand piano.
