Chapter 2: PAIRED WITH A REPEATER

Kinabukasan, Miss Gomez, our adviser told us to find a pair for a documentary task of the upcoming Intramurals.

Humalukipkip lamang ako and didn't bother myself to find a partner. I prefer working alone than being with fake people.

I was about to raise my hand to ask Miss Gomez if I can work by myself nang may biglang dumating. Napalingon ang lahat sa pintuan.

"I'm sorry Miss, for being late",
the boy spoke.

This guy seemed so familiar to me.

"Late enrolee ka na nga, late ka pang dumating. Mister, I did not tolerate tardiness in my class. Do you understand?",
tumango naman ang huli at ngumisi.

Realization came to my senses nung nakita kong ngumiti siya.
Siya 'yon! He's that guy who suddenly hugged me in the cafeteria yesterday! Naalala ko na naman 'yong nangyari. Oh lord of the rings, fudge this!

Miss Gomez asked the class kung sino pa ba yung walang partner, so I raised my right hand but was slightly timid when I noticed that I am the only one raising a hand.

"Since you are the only one who doesn't have a partner yet. Miss Delfin, I will pair you with Mister Alison",
Miss Gomez instructed.

The who?
Confusion was written all over my face.
Probably, Miss Gomez noticed that, so she instructed the guy na ipakilala ang sarili niya sa klase.

"Hi, guys! Good Morning! I am Shawn Nathaniel Alison but I prefer if you will came me Nate. I am sixteen years young. The truth is, I am a year ahead sa inyo but was forced to stop due to some circumstances that's why I enrolled late. So yeah, I hope I can be Your friend. And I can get along with all of you. Thank you!",
he then winked after he said that.
At agad nangisay sa kilig ang mga babae. 

Murmurs about him being handsome were constant at it's own phase. I just roll my eyes. Lol, what's so nakakakilig about a repeater?
Not that I didn't find him attractive. I didn't neglect the fact that he is an eye catcher.
But still, the idea of him winking was a gross thing for part.
Like ew, it was a horrible sight, you know.

Napansin ko lang kanina habang sinasabi niya ang "I hope I can be Your friend" he emphasized the word "Your" at tumingin sa gawi ko.

I doubt kung ang buong klase ba ang tinutukoy nya o ako lang?

Or so I presumed...

After that, Miss Gomez gave us time to talk about the task with our partners and bid her goodbyes.

I then saw Nate headed towards my direction. He flashed a smile and then sat on the seat next to mine.

I didn't even bothered to talk. Instead, I grabbed my phone on my pocket and started browsing on facebook as if there was something important on my notification.

I wondered why he didn't utter a single word yet?

So I looked up, and there he was, patienly staring at me like I'm a sort a beautiful sight to watch.

Err--

I felt the awkwardness of the atmosphere so I decided to break the silence.

"What now?",
I asked with a brow raised.

"Aren't you going to know me more first?",
he asked me back.

"I'm not interested in your life so let's just go straight to the point.",
I answered.

"Kung hindi ka interesado sa buhay ko, nababatid kong interesado ka naman sa akin.",
he replied with a smirk.

"Cut the crap. Will you? Dumiretso na nga tayo sa punto.",
I replied.

"Woah, masyado ka namang excited. Wag muna, babe. Ligawan muna kita",
sabi niya.

"Stop talking nonsense. Hindi nakakatawa. At pwede ba? Mag seryoso ka naman!",
my voice raised a little.

"Seryoso naman ako pagdating sayo",
he replied with a very serious face at tumitig sa mga mata ko.

Napatitig rin ako sa kanya at napagtantong ang ganda pala ng mga pilikmata niya at ng mga mata niyang para kang hinihigop sa tuwing nakatingin.

He suddenly tilted his head kaya agad kong binawi ang aking mga tingin.

"Ewan ko sa'yo. D'yan ka na nga! Bahala ka na d'yan. Mamaya na lang tayo mag usap. Gulo mo!",
sabi ko at agad na umalis sa harapan niya.

Damn. Bakit ko ba naging partner ang isang 'yon?

And why do I feel intimidated whenever he's around?

Nonetheless, part of me became happy because I am his partner.

I am paired with him...

I am paired with a repeater.
