Three days. Three blissful days you had with your boyfriend of one year. No schedules, no dance practices, no obligations, no distractions. Taehyung was all yours for three days and you both decided to spend one of those getting out and enjoying the nice weather by taking a leisurely walk in the park.
"It's perfect outside." You mentioned, showing some appreciation for the constant breeze that blew by, it's temperature cooler than the warm air around you.
"It's a great day to have nothing to do." Taehyung grinned, his cheeks growing rounded as he did so. "Let's stop and get some street food before we start our walk. I'm starving."
"I'm a little hungry too." You noted aloud, heading towards the short line of street vendors set up just outside the park.
Each stand sold something different: spicy rice cakes, cheesy corn dogs, fish cakes, and other Korean street food staples. You both bypassed any dishes where you'd have to sit to eat, like ramen, and opted for something to enjoy on your walk.Chewing a bite of your handheld food of choice, you walked along the stone-paved trail winding throughout the nature park, your gaze moving across the landscape and taking in the gorgeous flowers planted about the area. Every so often, a butterfly would come fluttering by, your eyes following it through the air until it was out of sight. Your attention fell on Taehyung walking beside you, eating his spicy rice cakes with a pout on his lips. That little detail alone made you smile, always finding it to be an endearing trait of his.
With a small snack on your stomachs, the both of you were able to hold hands and fully enjoy the atmosphere without the distraction of hunger.During your leisurely stroll, you pulled your phone out to snap pictures of the flowers around the park, capturing the beauty as well as the memories. Taehyung, in true fashion, photobombed a few of them, making silly faces in the background behind the pretty blossoms.
"Hang on." He giggled, plucking off a couple small blooms from a bush, sticking the stems up his nostrils.
"Taehyung!" You cackled loudly, throwing your head back at the ridiculously goofy idea.
"Hurry! It tickles." He spoke through breathy laughter, his nostrils flaring and twitching.
Holding your phone up, you calmed your giggles enough to steady yourself and snap a couple photos of him.
"Alright." You snickered, sliding the device back into your pocket.
Taehyung blew a huff of air out his nostrils, the flowers shooting out and falling to the ground as he itched vigorously at his nose."I can't believe you did that." You cackled, stumbling a bit as you laughed at your boyfriend. "I think that's gonna be my new wallpaper."
Too engrossed in the moment, you weren't paying much attention to where you were going or that you were veering off to the side of the path.
"Agh!" You yelped when a jolt of paint shot up your leg, having just rammed into a park bench.
Taehyung's demeanor shifted as soon as he saw something was the matter. "What's wrong? What happened?"
You hissed in pain, bending down to nurse your shin, waiting for the throbbing to pass.
"I ran into that bench." You grunted through clenched teeth.
Taehyung gasped loudly and turned towards the idle culprit. "How dare you hurt my Y/n!" He chastised as he kicked the bench.
"Tae." You chuckled softly at his antics, which provided a momentary distraction from the ache in your shin. "You don't have to do that."
"Don't hurt my precious girl again or it'll be worse next time." He warned and pointed threateningly at the inanimate seat.He then turned his attention back to you, dropping the lighthearted act and helping you over to a shallow stone wall the separated the walkway from the flower garden. You huffed, leaning to rest against the barrier.
"Are you okay?" He questioned, crouching down on the ground to examine your leg.
"I think I'll be fine. I didn't hit the bench that hard. It definitely hurts though."
Taehyung gingerly began to pull up your pants leg to assess the damage, both of you gasping at the sight of a faint bruise already forming on your shin. He gently ghosted his fingertips over the still tender spot which causes you to hiss in pain through your teeth.
"That hurts, baby."
"Sorry." He began apologizing profusely, his brows pulled together fretfully. "Why don't we go back to my apartment and get you an ice pack? I think feel a knot forming."
"I'll be fine." You assured him. It was just a little bump, nothing to be too concerned about.
"You really should ice that." He insisted, concern lacing his voice. "Let's go back to my place."
"But our park date." You frowned, not wanting your minor injury to ruin the day.
"It's okay, angel. We can have a cozy dorm date instead." He took your hand and helped you up, leading you out of the park.
"You're always so optimistic." You stated. "I feel like I'm ruining our date and you're totally okay with the change in plans."
"I try to be." He smiled kissing your temple softly. "Besides, we can have just as much fun indoors. We'd be with each other and that's what this date was all about."
His words brought a smile to your face. "You're right. Being able to spend time with you is all that matters."_____________________________________
