بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.I was sitting in a bus lost in my thoughts when the bus driver told me that we have reached your destination mam, I silently stepped down and muttered a thank you. I seriously hate going to college on Wednesdays because of how annoying our lecturer is, his lecture is boring and it makes you fall asleep I sighed and head to the lecture hall and found a vacant spot in the back row since I am late, the lecturer keeps talking as I slept in only to walk up to an empty hall, I kept on cursing myself for sleeping in the lecture hours. I walked out of the lecture hall and head to the cafeteria to get something to eat as I am already famished.
The guy that owns the cafeteria grins widely as he saw me coming. Abke se ho bhaisab (how are you doing brother) he reply was me barya ( I am good) aur batawo (and you) me tikhu ( I am fine) bhaisab aek sandwich aur mango smoothie dedo ( brother give me one sandwich and a mango smoothie) he told me to wait for five minutes. I sat down at my favorite spot and ate my sandwich in peace. I then saw a miss calls followed by messages from my mom telling me to come home sharply as we are have guests coming. I was like what does having guests have to do with me besides she didn't told me anything about it earlier my mom is actually incredible huh. I paid the guy his money and took the bus home.
I salaamed and entered our living room only to find some pairs of eyes on me, I then greeted them and my mom was like come sit here meri beta (my child) and now I am starting to feel nervous, I kissed my mom's forehead as I always do whenever I return home or going out. She informed our guests that this is Asiya which is me and Asiya meet Mr. Malik Ibn Thabbit and his son Zaid, I then raise an eyebrow at my mom because I am lost. My mom told me to set the tea for our guests while she continue to converse with Mr. Malik. Mr. Malik was like the innocent child is cool and I did want her to be my daughter in-law so let's fix the date for their nikkah already or what do you think Umm Asiya? My mom said I'd like to have a word with my daughter and I will get back to you in sha Allah ( God-willing) I on the other hand was spineless because I don't know what that means. And marriage was never in my docket but then I remember the verse of the Quran in Surah Al-Imran chapter 3:54 "وَمَكَرُوا۟ وَمَكَرَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ
And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers." I know Allah is the best of planners and my Allah will never let me down, He knows our situation, and He promise with every hardship comes ease. Maybe this is a good idea but then let me find out about it from my mom. I hold the tray of chai (tea) in my hands with some samosas and told our guests to come over to our dinning section for chai (tea) Mr. Malik tapped his hand on the shoulders of his son and told him to come and have chai (tea) but what I noticed was that his son have been quiet since I stepped in but anyway it's none of my business after all. They have their tea with samosas and Mr. Malik put his hands on my head and says "اللهم بارك God bless you" my child and I feel warm in my heart because I crave for the love of a father, all I see in his eyes was pure love for me and Alhamdulillah (Thank God) I am happy, I shyly mumbled a thank you uncle to Mr. Malik and he kissed my forehead and they said their salaam and left our house. In the night while we are having our dinner with my mom she was quiet for a while before she cleared her throat and said to me Asiya I have known Mr. Malik for more than 18 years now and he has helped me a lot as a single mother, he supported me financially and emotionally he's a very kind-hearted man I have ever known in my entire life and as for Zaid I watched him grow up and become a very well mannered young man, he's religious and he respect his elders, he doesn't talk much, he's reserved. And Mr. Malik knows that I have a daughter, who's my everything, my only source of happiness, he told me that he did want us to be bonded meaning he wants you to marry his son Zaid.
