"Emerald I'm not sure if Noel will like it." Zane unsurely said, walking towards Noel's doorway.

"I have known Noel for only about a week so I haven't got to know much about him. However the one thing I do know is he LOVES food so I bought him a Choclate cake. Plus I haven't had any friends so I don't know what kind of gifts are appropriate for a friend." Zane looked at the gift wrapped box of the cake.

"He'll love it. Don't think too much about it." Emerald said.

Zane pressed the door bell....

"Happy Birthday Noel!" Zane chripped as soon as he opened the door.

"Thank you buddy!" Noel smiled, gesturing Zane to come in.

Zane saw Danielle and other classmates, he talked to them here and there before it was time to cut the cake and everyone sang happy birthday to Noel.

Dancing didn't interest Zane for long, he danced with Noel, Danielle and some other friends. When he saw all his friends so into dancing that they wouldn't notice his absence, he glanced over at Emerald who was standing by a table his arm folded over his torso, and slowly squeezed his way over to him.

"Already bored of dancing?" Emerald chuckled as Zane came and stood next to him.

"Never liked dancing much." Zane's scrunched up features matched with his balant tone.

"So you just gonna stand here with me?" Emerald asked.

"Maybe." Zane shrugged.

"But you know Emerald this party would have been more interesting if-"

"Louis was here." Emerald completed Zane's sentence.

"Yeah." Zane gazed down, "Louis is one year senior than us hence Noel isn't friends with him."

"Zanie, you'll see him tomorrow at school so just chill." Emerald told him.

"I don't wanna stand here, it's too loud." Zane blurted.

"So where do you wanna go?" Emerald asked.

"Let's see..." Zane grabbed Emerald's hand and dragged him out of the lounge.

"I think this room is perfect, the music is very mildly audible here." He stopped in front of a room.

"Zane I think it's Noel's room. You think he wouldn't mind us going in without asking him?" Emerald looked at Zane.

"I'm sure he wouldn't mind. He's very easy going." Zane said and entered the room.

Zane sat on edge of the bed. Emerald sat beside him.

"Zanie what's the matter you're so quiet?" Emerald squeezed Zane's shoulder, as he knows it clams him.

"Nothing." Zane said, starring at the floor.

"Come on Zanie tell me." Emerald asked, comforting him.

"I was thinking about everything happened this week. I don't have that 'ugly fag' title anymore, I have amazing friends and I have a date with my crush. Emerald it's not.... its not normal for me. Things like that doesn't happen with people like me. And it still feels surreal to me. And now that I have it all and it's because of you. And it really bothers me. It thrembles me from inside to think about what if it's not real? What if it'll all go away when you'll be gone. What will I do then? I wouldn't be able to live Emerald." Zane didn't know when tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Zanie." Emerald lifted Zane's face up by his chin to make him look at him, he looked into his eyes, firmly yet comfortably.

"You don't have to think about it. All that you have now it's because of you not me. I just told you what to do, YOU did all of it not me. And nothing will go away, nothing that you have now, nothing that makes you happy will go away when I'll be gone. And I'll only leave when I know that you won't be needing me anymore. I promise you." Emerald rubbed Zane's arms to comfort him.

"Now stop crying." Emerald softly brushed all the tears off Zane's cheek and pulled him between his arms for a hug.

"I wanna dance." Emerald said after Zane got a little clam to cheer him up.

"Emerald I don't wanna dance. That's why I came here." Zane's voice was still a little crackly.

"No you came here because you had all those stupid thoughts on your mind." He pulled Zane up on his feet.

"I don't wanna dance." Zane argued.

"Come on Zanie. Think of me as Louis then you will wanna dance." Emerald smirked.

Zane's face lifted just at mention of Louis and a shy smile appeared on his face.

"Now come on let's dance." Emerald said and Zane finally agreed.

They danced to the music they could still hear coming form the lounge. Zane's one has was on Emerlad's back and one on his shoulder. Emerald's one hand was on Zane's waist and another hand was on Zane's shoulder.

Zane got carried away in the momemt too quickly. He starred at Emerald who he was imagining as Louis and he forgot everything else.

"There you are!" Noel threw his hand in air, slighlty annoyed at Zane.

Zane quickly moved away form Emerald when he saw Noel then realised that Noel an't see him.

"I came here looking for you. I thought you already left without even telling me." Noel sounded annoyed.

"Sorry Noel. I wasn't feeling good so I came here. I hope you don't mind?" Zane walked over to him.

"Are you okay Zane? And of course I don't mind." Noel got concerned and placed his hand on Zane's arm.

"Yeah, I'm feeling good now." Zane smiled.

"So let's come out then. You're missing all the fun." Noel smiled and took Zane's hand and took him with him.

The week went by and finally the day of Zane's first ever date with Louis came. He wasn't ready but he had to be. It was his chance to really impress Louis and be a step closer to what he wants.

"Emerald, I don't think I can do this." Zane looked at him nervously and bit his bottom lip.

"Of course you can. You have done things far more difficult than this." Emerald motivated Zane.

"Do I look alirght?" Zane asked nervously, looking at his outfit then at Emerald. He chose to wear black skinny jeans with blue t-shirt and a black jacket.

"You look amazing." Emerald said in a lovely tone.

"Thank you." The corners of Zane's lips turned up into the biggest curve on his face.

"Wait a second-" Emerald adjusted Zane's jacket. When he looked up his eyes met with Zane's, they starred blankly at each other for a short moment.

Zane's phone beeped "Ah, it's Louis. He has arrived. He is across the street." Zane said nervously but also excitedly.

"All The Best Zanie." Emerald gave Zane the brightest smile.

"Thank you Emerald." Zane turned around before leaving "I owe it all to you." His voice was full of emotion, he turned back around and left right away.
