"I am small and needy. Warm me up and breathe me."
>~<
To say that I woke up in a state of pure panic and shock was an understatement. I cant say if I am asleep or awake because my body feels as if it's in a euphoric state. I can't feel much besides the bonds tying my arms behind my back, and the gag placed tightly around my mouth. My sight is limited to the the small blurry light occasionally coming from a hole in the stuffy trunk of this god damned car from hell. It is still night, so I must not have been out for too long.
We are clearly on some type of freeway by the sounds of passing cars and the bumps that would make me bounce off of the hard-ass floor I am on. Who the fuck do these people think they are? More importantly what do they want with me? I sure as hell am not going to be some sort of slave for them if that's what they were thinking. Did McKale know I was taken? Hell, she would probably assume I was with Zach *cough, cough, fucking asshole, cough*.
My thoughts were interrupted by the car hitting a pothole. My limp body flew up and I hit my head on the trunk lid hard. "Shit." I thought as I felt little droplets of blood trickle down the side of my head. I slowly drift into unconsciousness as the car slows and exits the freeway.
~><~
"Do you thinks she's alright?"
"Fuck, Mikey, does she look alright to you? Her head is bleeding!" Who's Mikey?
"Guys, calm down I think she moved." Why do they all have Australian accents? Fuck, did they smuggle me into Australia? Maybe it's because they're from Australia, Danielle? I'm so stupid sometimes.
I try to open my eyes, but shut them immediately when it sets off a massive headache.
"Shit..." I mumble, groaning afterwards. It sounds more muffled due to the cloth restricting my words.
"Oh good, she lives." the guy with black and purple hair says as he removes the material from my mouth and wrists, quite roughly might I add.I open my eyes, much slower this time to allow my eyesight to adjust to the bright lights coming from the flashlights they hold. There are four guy a bit older than myself leaning over the trunk to look at me. Oh right, I was kidnapped. Must've slipped my mind (note the sarcasm). I send a good, hard glare to each of them.
"I don't know who he hell you ass-wipes are, but would you kindly get me out of this trunk?" I demand. I touch my head where the blood is drying and hiss in pain, pulling it down immediately. There isn't too much blood on my hand, so at least I won't be bleeding to death. I still have a massive headache though.
"Fine, fine. Calm down sassy pants." the curly dude with the bandana says, rolling his eyes. He bends down and lifts me out. I try standing on my own, but end up falling back into curly.
We are in a woodsy area with tall pine and maple trees surrounding us. When I turn around, there stands a large 2-story house that reminds me of a mix of a log cabin and a rustic beach house. These guys must be rich. I decide against letting my mind wonder how they got their money...
"Here, Ash. I'll take her." I took my eyes from the house to rest them on Blondie, or Luke, who tore me from 'Ash's' grip and led me up to the house. His long legs carry him much faster than mine do, so I end up doing and awkward combination of stumbling and rushing to catch up with him before he tears my arm from the socket.
Wait. Why haven't I screamed yet? These little punks are forcing me into their house and I have yet to resist them? Thats definitely about to change.
"No, stop!" I yell at Luke, while tugging my arm away forcefully. I catch him by surprise, as I quickly turn and run before anyone can move.
I have no idea where I'm running to, just that it was towards the gravel roadway they came in from. I turn my head to see all four boys trailing 50 feet behind me. I'm beginning to regret not taking running so seriously in PE. Granted, I had never thought I would be running for my life, but I mean come on, 12.35 minutes on the mile? I know I can do better than that, it's not like I'm out of shape or anything. Maybe a little. Shut up.
Suddenly a hand grasps onto my wrist tightly and I am engulfed into someone's arms. I kick and squeal in panic when I hear an "oofh" followed by groaning. I smirk to myself, knowing that I hit him where it hurts, but I fall onto the gravel, scraping my knees and hands in this stupid costume dress that I had forgotten I was still in. I got up quickly looking back at the tanned boy with black hair I had kicked. The other boys were still hot on my tail as I sprint into the dense woods hoping to loose them.
To my luck, their height seemed to be a disadvantage as my small figure weaves between trees and low hanging branches with ease. When I see no one behind me, I stop to catch my breath before resting on a nearby tree.
My knees continue to bleed down my shins and onto my white converse. Luckily I hadn't worn the heels McKale had begged me to. I let a tear slip down my cheek while I thought about my old life. Why did Zach have to cheat on me like that? I wouldn't have gone outside by myself if he hadn't. God this is all his fault, I sigh as I kick the tree angrily behind me. Suddenly a throaty, inhumane growl erupts behind me.
I turn around to see a huge wolf staring at me like fresh meat less than 10 feet away. It's difficult to see with the moon being the only source of light. It growls again showing me his sharp, pointy teeth. I am completely frozen in my spot staring at it inching closer to me, while I back up until my back hits the tree. "I am going to die tonight, I swear," I think to myself.
A branch cracks to my left as I see an out of breath, and fuming Luke glaring at me. His stare softens when he notices my already tensed and horrified expression, glancing to the wolf where my eyes were previously focused on. His eyes widen while he slowly reached for his back pocket, pulling out a hand gun and aiming it at the dog, which growls at Luke and turns, lunging for him. I scream when the dog falls mid-leap and lands at the shooter's feet, limp and dead, with blood seeping from it's head.
My hands flies up to my mouth to muffle my sobs as I slide my back down the tree I'm pressed against. I could hear Luke's steps as the branches and fallen leaves crunch beneath his vans. When the noise stops, I look up to meet his cold stare. His blue eyes hold no emotion at all and I wonder if they ever have at some point. It doesn't seem like they could've.
"You better follow me now, Danielle." he demands as he lifts me from the ground, beginning to walk away. This boy makes me so curious and terrified at the same time. He stops in his tracks and turns to me when I wasn't following. He notices that I'm staring at him and he smirks.
"Who knows? You might just be next." I gulp at his forwardness, and follow him after he begins the trek out of the woods.
My pounding headache gets worse as we exit the forest onto the gravel pathway. My knees ache from running on torn skin, and I was losing too much blood. How will I be able to escape? I won't. I think. But I have to.
My vision begins to blur again and I feel like I'm hallucinating. I look back into the forest, to see Luke standing next to me, holding my hand.
"Luke?" Everything slows down as I look forward again to see the real Luke turning at the sound of his name. When I turn back to my hallucination he is leaning in closely as if he is about to kiss me.
"It's okay babe, hell isn't so bad after all. We can go together. Forever." he says as my eye sight fades and my knees buckle, sending me straight to the ground.
"Dani!" A voice yells, "Fuck, she's losing blood! Don't die on me!"
What scared me most was the thought that crossed my mind next,
"I'd rather die than be here with these people.">~<
