"Alright now it's time to announce the results of your apprehension task" Sensei said announcing the results.
Mei and Airi was desperate to know their scores as they kept glaring at one another from time to time. Since Sensei was too lazy to say the ranks he instead showed them all the scores. Mei eyes were burning when she saw the class. The class looked surprised when they saw that Airi was placed first in the quirk apprehension test.
Airi's head immediately snapped to Mei's, but what she saw was surprising. Mei wasn't even bothered by her third place rank in the test, her eyes were lingering on who place fifth. Airi then followed her gaze to a name expecting it to be Bakugou but it wasn't him it was; Todoroki Shoto. Looking back at the girl she could see her eyes were now fixed on the said boy as he only looked at Mei for a brief moment before turning his head away from her.
Mei was having mixed emotions as she stared at her childhood friend she hasn't seen in so long. The way he turned away from her it almost looked sad. Mei had wondered why he was avoiding her very since they were kids. Sure she had forgiven Shoto, but the question still lingers.. does he forgive himself?
Airi saw the conflict written in her eyes as she put her hand on Mei's shoulder giving a reassuring squeeze as she tried to calm the girl of the unknown feeling Mei was experiencing. Airi's eyes scanned the scores, her eyes widened when the green haired boy was placed last. She felt pity for him being last even though he's come so far in the ball throwing test.
"Sensei, please hear me out!" Airi said to her sensei raising her hand int he air. The sensei hummed as he urged her onto finishing her announcement "I request that you not expell any of us today!" the sensei raised an eyebrow at her "Izuku Midoriya has so much potential in him - everyone could see it! He has the potential to become a great hero! Furthermore in this test it gives others such as myself an advantage because of our physical quirks!" she said gesturing to herself and others who placed near the top. Meanwhile Izuku was blushing in embarrassment at Airi for sticking up for him. "So please don't expel anyone!"
Sensei blinked before putting his hand in his pocket "About that.. it was a deception." the whole class was stunned at his statement. "It was to help you draw out your best into this test."
The whole class was literally screaming in surprise while Airi looked very relieved putting a hand to my heart glad that it was only a trick, if it was real she doesn't know how Izuku was ever going to get over the fact that he got expelled on the first day.
Momo and Mei seemed unaffected by his statement "Well wasn't it obvious from the start." Momo sighed her hands on her hips as she observed the class's surprised reactions.
"What?! Mei why didn't you tell us?!" Airi exclaimed getting mad at the girl who's arms were crossed over her chest. Mei's mind was clouded ever since she discovered that Shoto was in the same class as her.
"I thought you honestly knew." Mei told her friend innocently oblivious to the angry stare Airi was giving her.
Then sensei dismissed everyone to go change and prepare for their next lessons. Mei and Airi were walking side by side with the rest of the girls behind them as they all were going into the changing rooms. Mei walked in first and reached to open her locker and take out all her clothes. She slipped on the uniform while neatly folding her PE uniform.
The girls were conversing to each other while the two best friends silently changed without saying a word to one another. Mina and Tsuyu were right beside them though happily chatting with each other, "Hey congrats Airi for scoring first place!" Mina said
The said girl however didn't look proud of it anymore "Thanks." she said simply.
"Eh? What's wrong, Airi-chan? You don't look all that happy." Toru butted in
