Mei released a sigh of relief like everyone else.
"Finally, something school-like!" we all exclaimed. Mei could feel that this is finally a normal school activity. But then everyone in the class erupted into chaos wanting the position including Airi for some odd reason..
"Pick me! Pick me you fuckers!" Bakugou shouted aggressively
"When I'm president all the girl's skirt needs to be at least 30cm above the knee or shorter" Minoru fantasized raising his hand in the air
"When I become president I'll rule the school!" Airi proclaimed.
"Of course everybody wants to be president" Mei mumbled under my breath. She already decided that she didn't want to be involved in this because of past events at her old school.
"Be quiet!" instantly the class quieted down obediently curious to what Tenya had to say "Just because you'd like to do it doesn't mean you can! It is a holy office that requires the great esteem and trust of those around you...!" with sweat forming on his forehead he continued "The only one who's truly worthy of being leader is the one who'd emerge victorious from a democratic choice, reflecting the will of the people!" with a hand raised high int he air he finished "Which is why this must be settled with voting!"
Mei sweat dropped 'he could've just said that from the beginning. Nevertheless it's too obvious that he wants the spot.
"But it's too early to have developed any trust in each other" Tsuyu remarked facing Lida with a knowing stare
"And everyone will just vote for themselves!" Eijirou added
"And that is the reason why the person who receives the most votes would be appropriate for the job, no?!" Tenya announced the rest of us nodded in agreement to his statement "Is that alright, Sensei?!" he asked to sensei politely
"As long as you all decide before the deadline, anything's fine." sensei said lazily before
Airi clapped my holds together enthusiastically "Well then let's start voting everyone"
Soon everyone got given a piece of paper and they wrote down their votes onto it. "Mei you don't look as excited as I thought you would be." Airi said as she was looking at her best friend.
Mei lifted her head from her paper and quickly hid it from her "That's because I'm not excited about it."
Airi blinked and the next second she was shaking her back and forth "What?! But you were always president back then!"
Mei gripped Airi's hand and sent her a look "That was before. I am not interested in becoming Class President." Mei said with a serious tone.
Airi gasped dramatically letting go of her in the process. "That means I won't have any competition in this event! Yes! For once god has answered my call and have erased you from the president polls." Airi said her eyes shining as she looked out the window.
"I can't see you becoming Class president." Mei deadpanned with a straight face causing her best friend to turn around and yell accusingly at her.
"And I can't see you becoming the school's star athlete!" Airi pointed out angrily.
Mei blinked "I have always been the MUN type of person and school-" she was cut off when Airi when to shake her by the collar in a comically scene.
"I didn't ask you to brag about those easy subjects! Being class president will be the best way to earn grades and credit!" Airi said proudly.
Mei heaved a long sigh "For the last time Airi being class president doesn't get you extra grades or credit, it's just voluntary extra school work."
