Maddie's POV

I ran down to the beach at 3:15 pm on a Friday after school finished. I didn't have dance till later at 6pm so it was okay.

After I took a snack from the fridge I quickly made a chocolate milkshake and skulled it down my throat, same as the banana, I took my iPhone 5 c which happened to be blue, my favourite colour , a banana, a towel and a brush.

My parents have always loved the beach and I have too. I was always at the beach, it was literally my life and it was only 1 minute away from my house. And I also liked eating healthy it made me feel like a better, stronger person.

I started taking my thongs off my small tanned feet I then took off my T-shirt and my board shorts. I was wearing a pretty cyan bikini, which had purple spots. I put my long light brown hair in a bun with some pins and no net. I then stood at the edge of the water. The water was a beautiful blue with white sand.

I ran into the waves like I did every other day for the past 8 years. I went out till the water got up to my ribs and jumped waves and caught them back to shore. I love doing this. I went to shore because I was feeling hungry and ate my banana.

I checked the time I still had an hour left. I decided to go back in.

I thought to myself why I have never dived in the water yet. I realised it was because I never thought of diving before. My parents then came down to the beach and said "Maddie come inside now it's nearly dinner time" I said " okay but let me show you a dive"

I dived in the water and couldn't get back up. My eyes shut and all I saw was blackness. I lost all my strength.

I woke up in my bed. I checked the time 10:00 am I was late for school! I told my mom and dad but they said "you drowned last night you are not going to school." I realised they took me to hospital.

I still had my bikini on, I guess they don't like to take people's clothes off when they are a teen. Or they didn't feel they needed to. The doctor came in and said "Oh thank goodness you are awake Madison." "Maddie I corrected him" "Maddie sorry" I was used to being called Maddie that was the only name my parents called me.

I wondered why the doctor called me that. They must have been worried for me, I hope not to much.

My little sister Kenzie walked in and enveloped me in a hug. "I am so glad you are okay I thought you were going to be in a coma." Then the doctor walked in. He said that I needed to drink some water when I started to feel dizzy and that I wasn't allowed to swim in the ocean for a week.

I died inside.

What else could I possibly do? I am 15 years old. I guess I could text my boyfriend Josh. I decided to tell him I drowned and everything else that happened.
