~ Jason's povI look over my shoulder, my eyes searching her in the sea of black clothed people and they find her immediately.
Both arms wraps around her little sister as her little sister hiccups, wide eyes looking around.
She is too young to understand what's happening. Too young. But she knows that her father is not coming back. Her father will be seeing her from the above. He will be always with her but not physically.
'Why?' she asks her big sister in confusion and sadness.
'God has called him back. He will be watching from above now.' Soph tries to explain as calmly as she could, tears gathering in her red eyes again.
'No! I want Daddy back!' Julie wails pulling her hands away from Sophia and running towards her other sister who was looking at the scene with no expression on her face.
My eyes move towards her again as her arms tighten around Julie for a moment.
After she fainted, all hell had broken loose. With shaking fingers, I had called Sean while Julie cried over her sister telling her to wake up, pushing her shoulders.
When she had woken up, she cried and kept crying holding Julie to her chest for so many hours.
No words are enough for a person who had lost someone they love. This is the heartbreak from which you can never move on, you can not drink it away with alcohol. That absence will always be there. Knowing that person will never be returning.
All the while, I hold them in my arms until her screaming subsided and turned into sobbing. When Sean arrived taking Julie in his arms, she looked at them for a while then without a word, she stood up and went to her room, locking the door behind her.
I kept knocking, punching the door, threatening I would tear it down but she didn't give any reply. After a while, I heard the opening of the shower as water stared pouring.
Silence. It was silent for a while.
'Give her some time. She needs some time.' I heard Sean whispers behind me making me turn over to see her carrying sleeping Juliet in his arms.
'Put her in the room, I am staying in.' I nod my head at her sleeping form before turning around glaring at the closed door again.
Sean sighs behind me before I heard his footsteps going towards the room. As soon as he enters the room, I push the door handle with force.
I take few steps back and look at the door, determined. I push forward with all my force and throw my weight at the door. The door cracked at the same time, I hear Sean calling out to me.
'Jason, Don't!'
I stumble inside the door, moving towards the bathroom in haste. It is locked too. I punched the door.
'Tashi! Open it! ' I say, softly.
'I'm not going anywhere unless you open it. I'll break this door too.'
After few minutes, the shower turned off and I hear some shuffling before the door opens to reveal her, standing there with no expression on her face. She is drenched from head to toe. Water dripping from the clothes to the floor as she makes her way to the bed and lays down. Without looking anywhere, she closes her eyes and folds her arms to her chest.
She didn't move for hours. She laid there until her family arrived back, crying. They were shaking her, screaming at her to respond while she looks at them, silently. Her sister, Sophia, held her and kept repeating 'It will be okay' again and again while crying. Her mom went to her room before we heard crying and screaming from her room.
