The Path from Destiny

The large cherry blossom trees swigged in the wind as a girl walking across the Stoney path of the city. The girl looked ahead of her, driving upwards into the incoming crowd to reach her destination. Within moments she had pulled the door to a small flower shop and stepped inside. The flower shop was covered in lively green plants each one displaying their petals with confidence. "Why good morning Cor-aKey....", a small voice rang out from the upper level. It was a small crinkled woman, she had grey-white hair that was tied up in a neat bun, her face worn from living many years. She wore long blankets that covered her body including the wheelchair she perched upon. "Good morning Mrs. Monica! Again it's Kori", the girl looked up to Mrs.Monica her long black hair that reached all the way down to her pleaded blue skirt, paired with a cream colored sweater. She looked up beaming at the old women her crystal blue-eyes sparkling as the sun entered through the windows. "Aww right my apologies...", the lady rasped as she rolled her chair down onto the first floor and stood in front of Kori. "Don't worry about Mrs. Monica", Kori smiled as she hugged the old woman gently. Mrs. Monica let out a horse laugh hugging Kori back. "Alright dearie, shall we get to work?", the woman said as she began to make her way to the front desk. "Of course! I'll water from the A to S", Kori said grabbing a watering can. "Alright then... let's begin" Mrs.Monica spoke, grabbing another watering can and began to water the rest that had been left for her. The rest of the morning was sealed in silence as Kori kept to her self lost in thought. "I wonder if I'll have the opportunity to go get lunch today.... it has been dreadfully busy these last few days."  Soon both finished watering the plant just before 8 o'clock. Kori quickly flipped the sign on the door to OPEN and then they waited for there first customer to arrive. Kori skipped to the cashier's desk and neatly turning one side of a small flower pot to where the yellow roses faced the sunlight. Mrs.Monica went back up to top floor giving a lazy wink to Kori, "Call me if you need me child." Kori looked to her and smiled, "Of course."  Kori turned her attention back towards the door, before long three men walked through the door. The all walking in like foxes prowling around for their next meal. Two of the men split of and started to fake look at the flowers. The one that was left has a solid man with lean but muscular shoulders he kept is head down his hair covered by a hat. He walked up to the cashier's desk and flashed a wolffish smile, "Hello there...." he spoke sickly-sweet like, "Me and my friends here where looking to by a few rose bushes" Kori smiled sweetly the man and nodded "Oh, of course I hope you'll find our selection suitable." He grinned to her before turning on his heel, he quickly grabbed a rose bush and plopped it on the counter. By then both men had flanked him as she rang up the rosy bush. As Kori began ringing it up she began to think, "I wonder if there bringing these to there mom? Or maybe to there sister? Or even planting it at someone's house! These men seem like some really nice guys!" She tied a red ribbon around one of the stems before she said, "Ok sir, that will be $8.30" The man nodded and threw the cash down onto the  counter before grabbing his rose bush. He flashed a dangerous smile and remarked , "Thanks darling... I just wanted to make this mine."  Kori nodded a bead of sweat dropping from her forehead at the tone of his voice, "Of course... Have a nice day." Soon they all stalked out of the shop just the way they came. The rest of the day passed by uneventfully many women rushing in grabbed a plant and running back. Kori yawned as she watched the clock. Soon a voice spoke behind her, "I think it's time to close up" She shot her head around and jumped a few feet in the air, "Right!" She nodded to Mrs.Monica and soon began to lock up everything for the night. Once she was done she hugged the woman, "See you tomorrow." Mrs. Monica nodded waving her small hand as Kori opened to door and disappeared into the night air. Kori strolled one the rock path leading to her house as she walked she thought to herself, "I wonder if I'll have time to walk Ghost before it gets to dark..." Before she knew it she was one the path to her house, but something was wrong. Her once clean and beautiful house was know molded and covered in dirt. Shattered class circled it, the door was thrown of the hinges and the roofing was falling off. Kori grasped her hands over her mouth screaming into them. Light tears streamed from her crystal eyes, she was trembling as she shakily ran into the house. Before she could take her first step a large hand covered her mouth and grabbed her firmly. Panic-stricken she screamed but it was no use. The familiar wolf-like smile appeared from the corner of her eye, it was the man for before! She soon realized he wasn't there to help. The words the smiled and way they walked it clicked inside her mind. "Oh, no.... What am I going to do!" She screamed and thrashed in his arms as she tried to break free. Soon he spit in her face and pulled her head back. "Stop! Stop it! You DAM BRAT!" He kicked her in the back her knees make her legs buckle. "Tie her up boys!" Both men from before emerged from the shadows and smiled with menace. The pulled rope from a bag, Kori thrashed even more as one grabbed her arms and began tying them at her wrist. The men at her legs had more trouble but he was beginning to tie tight knots on her ankles. With Kori beginning to tire to man pulled her long hair back to were her face met with his, "You'll fetch a high price love.... but how knows I may wanna keep you for myself..." "I am going to die...... I am going to get sold....... Oh no" Tears gushed from her eyes in silence. She and finally submitted to there will, shaking as she threw her to the ground in front of her house. They all smiled as they looked at her "I am so sorry Mrs.Monica I won't even come to work again.... and ghost I'll have to leave you behind too" The more she began to think about her life the more she began to shake the more she began to loose hope the more her heart burned with guilt. Just as the men where about to grab her a voice rang out from heavens, "Hey! I suggest you keep your hands off!" The man was cloaked in the shadows from the moon but his presence seemed to be a god sent. The shingles on the roofing cracked under the pressure and man propelled himself off of it and onto the ground. Under the house Kori could finally make out how her savior looked, he was a tall and muscular man. Each of his muscles rippled under his grey shirt and black pants, his hair was slicked back and has a dark maroon. But something strikes Kori more than anything was the mans eyes..... the color looked as if the sun had be captured into them as if she was staring at a panther in moonlight instead of a man. He stood a step forward his face in a disgusted expression. Immediately all three man darted forward pulling out daggers from their hind pockets. "Hey back off you Bastard! This is our catch!", one off man screamed as he ran toward the attacker. As soon as he reached the yellow-eyed man he was brought down with a swift blow to the head. He looked towards the rest dusting of his shoulder with fury burning his eyes, "Who's next?" Both of the remaining men looked towards him then back to Kori. Kori's skin crawled in fear but soon enough the spotlight was transferred the the attacker. He had grabbed one man silently and knocked him out. The last one looked toward the man looming over him and soon scrambled away stomping over Kori as he ran. All that was left as Kori and her rescuer, the man's shadow loomed over Kori crumpled body. The man looked at her in fury and made some sort of annoyed grunt. Kori looked up to him her eyes shot with fear and relief all at once. "Can you stand?", the man asked her as he quickly ripped the ropes of her ankles. Kori looked up to him speechless but soon his patience grew thin, he yanked her up roughly her legs barely supporting her. "LISTEN! God... you humans are idiots!" He snorted, Kori looked to him frightened, "T-th-anks... for u-u-mm saving me...." She stuttered over her words as she looked at him. "Not like I wanted to...." he spat basically hissing it to her, "Listen here you human! I saved you yes but I'm not here to just let you go!" She looked at him in shock as she spoke again, "You have a dog right? Well you have two options... come with me willingly and the dog lives. You force me to detain you and I WILL KILL THAT MUT" he spoke coldly as his eyes burned into hers. Kori suddenly found her voice, "Please! Don't Hurt him! I'll go with you!" He loosed him grip on her and cut of her wrist retrains, "Smart choice even though your dumb..." Kori shook her wrist, "This guy saved me but I think I'm about to get kidnapped from my kidnappers and they have ghost!" The man flicked his wrist and a swirling blue vortex opened up, the hole looked and Kori with one large eyes the colors sparking and flicking together. The Kori looked uncertainly into it before she got pushed in but the man. As she did so a million thought ran through her mind..."why is this happening!!! This man has my dog and he doesn't seem to even be human!.... What if I die was kinda magic is this am I dreaming? What does this mean for me and my future?"
