I thought maybe if I lay here long enough Luke would eventually come out and find me.

Maybe he had gone home already, maybe he walked past my car as I was in it and thought nothing of the "couple" going at it inside the closed doors.

What if I was here until morning?

Maybe Luke hadn't left.

He could still be inside, maybe sorting through clothes or stocking movies on shelves.

I didn't have the energy to open my eyes.

I tried just lifting the lids a bit to squint out at the darkness around me.

I'm pretty sure it is around two or maybe even one in the morning.

That's when I realized Luke wasn't coming.

He probably left.

But there was still a small chance that the side door in the alleyway, that led to the storage room, was still unlocked.

I lifted my eyelids and looked through the tiny crack that opened in my vision.

I squinted and got onto my knees and grabbed onto the flat wall to help me up.

I felt dirt on my face and my bare stomach. Cobwebs and dust floated off me as I stumbled up and took a step towards the grey door.

I kept my eyes half way shut, scared of seeing my dress that was most definitely ripped, lying on the concrete ground.

I fell into the wall, leaning against it for support.

I tripped my way over towards the handle of the door, slowly opening my eyes more.

I turned the knob and surprisingly, it opened.

"Luke most have forgotten to lock it," I thought to myself.

I was cold. I felt a rush of slightly warmer air as I entered the dark storage room.

I felt light headed. My head rushed as I opened the door to the store and was greeted by a blinding light.

I didn't know where to go. My body felt like it was on fire. I was so sore.

I walked towards one of the corners of the store and wrapped my arms around my barely clothed body.

He had only left my underwear on.

I curled up in the corner and put my head down, feeling the continuing ache lessen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke again, only ten minutes later, to the sound of footsteps coming around the corner.

I tried opening my eyes to see who it was.

Maybe he was back.

Maybe he found me and was going to hurt me again.

I curled closer into the corner and wrapped my arms tighter around my body, unable to find the courage to scream.

"Emmy?"

I moved further away, opening my eyes a bit more to see a figure standing over me.

I still couldn't bring myself to cry.

"Emmy, what happened?" The worried voice asked as he bent down to my level.

My eyes were wide open now in fear.

It's Luke what is he still doing here.

"Emmy, please just let me know how I can help you."

He sounded concerned, maybe he did want to help me.

Then again, what if he had been in on this the whole time.

Maybe this has all been a set up.

I felt my breathing speed up as he reached out to touch my hand.

I quickly pulled my hand away clutching it closer to my bare chest.

Luke pulled back in shock a bit and we were both quiet for a while.

"Em, I'm going to try to help you. You don't need to tell me what happened, but if you want to I will be here," he spoke quietly.

I didn't say a word, I was still trying to process all that had happened.

Luke stood up and extended his arm towards me.

I didn't move.

"Is it ok if I pick you up?" Luke asked gently.

"No," I thought to myself.

He apparently took my silence as a yes.

He reached one arm towards my body to scoop me up and I flinched.

I tried so hard not to start shaking.

I wanted to trust Luke, but I couldn't.

After all, he had promised he would come if I called and look where I am now.

Still Luke carried me all the way back to the clothing department.

He set me down, leaning against a wall and walked over to a rack, pulling down a pair of sweatpants.

I don't know why I'm still here I should go home.

But at home, I would be alone and at least I have Luke here, even if it is hard to trust him.

He took down a black sweatshirt as well and cautiously handed the articles of clothing over to me.

Luke coughed awkwardly and turned his back on me as I slipped the sweater over my head and stood up, leaning against the metal shelves for support, to put on my sweatpants.

"Do you need anything else?" Luke asked quietly turning back around.

I shook my head scared to speak

Luke stood in front of me and for the second time that night extended his arm down towards me waiting soft me to take it.

I ignored his hand and pulled myself up.

He looked a little hurt by my gesture, but brushed it off with a warm smile, obviously trying to make me feel comfortable.

"I have somewhere we should probably go," Luke spoke up.

I opened my mouth and in a sore voice whispered, "Okay."
