"I'll wait for you." I said while I tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
He walked towards the kitchen rolling up the sleeves of his white shirt. I heard a blender going on.
"You like strawberries right?" he asked from the kitchen.
"I love them." I replied him. Thinking that he's probably making Strawberry Daiquiri.
There was a big painting of a woman, walking on the beach with a satin robe on, hanging on the wall above the television.
The blender went off, and I heard a drawer open then a whipped cream bottle open and spray. He walked past me, onto the balcony. I stood up from the couch and followed him outside.
The balcony had roses growing around the railings. There was a table and on the table stood two large strawberry milkshakes with cream on top.
"You made us milkshakes?" I asked surprised.
"Are you disappointed?" He asked me.
"No! Not at all. It's just... Other guys would've taken me for alcoholic drinks. This is something different. A good different..." I said and smiled at him.I sat down on the chair opposite where he sat down and took a sip through the straw.
"Is this made of real strawberries?" I asked him.
"Yes, they grow them in the garden at the back of the hotel. We get a few every now and then." He said then took a sip of his milkshake as well.
I stood up to look over the railing of the balcony to the back yard. There was fruit planted everywhere. There were apple trees, strawberry plants and a lot of other berries growing in the garden. There was a forest and behind the forest flowed the river. There was a path build with stones starting at the hotel's lawn and ending on the river bank.
"So are you in town for business?" I asked him, curious about this generous, gorgeous man sitting in front of me.
"I live here. I'm the new HR at the lawyers' firm. The one Mr. Evan's wife works for. That's why I'm at all the functions. They pay for the hotel suite as part of my benefits." He said to me.
"Wait...I've met the new HR. The night of the costume party..." I said thinking back to the mystery man.
"I wondered if you would've ever figured that out." He said smiling at me.
"You had a mask on! But I see the hair resemblance now, Ugh... I'm so blind." I said while hitting my forehead with my hand.
"That's not the only place we have seen each other." He said and laughed at me.
"Where have we met? I never knew you and the mystery man were the same person." I curiously waited for his reply.
"The Mystery man?" he asked curiously.
"That's what I called you in my head because I couldn't see your face and I didn't get your name, which I regret..." I said, realizing what I've just said to him.
"We saw each other at the convenience store a few weeks ago, I smiled at you and you blushed, like you are doing now at this moment." He said staring into my eyes.
"What!?" I said while quickly covering my cheeks with my hands.
I felt a shiver down my back.
"I'm kidding!" he said, laughing hard this time.
We talked for a few hours. I really enjoyed his company and his sense of humor.
"I will get you a jacket." Rodrique said when he saw the goose bumps on my arms before he stood up from the chair and walked inside.
He came out with a black hoodie. He unzipped it and threw it over my shoulders. A guy that puts more clothes on me rather than taking some of mine off, such a gentleman.
Before we knew it, it was past eleven.
"Look at the time! Where did it go?" I said in a shock.
"Do you still want to go to your friend's house?" He asked me.
"No. Will you drop me off at my place, maybe?" I asked him.
He nodded and stood up. We walked to the elevator and got inside. I stared at him from the side, grateful for meeting him, even in the worst circumstances. There was nobody in the hotel. He walked through an entrance, leading us to his car that was parked outside. I got to the door first and climbed in. Inside the car I realized I still had his hoodie around my shoulders.
We listened to the song playing on the radio, Maroon 5, Girls like you. He looked at me during the drive a few times. We were silent the whole way to my apartment. I looked at his jeans, folded tightly around his legs as he drove. It looked so sexy to me.
He came to a stop after I had told him which apartment building I live in. He got out and opened the door for my once more. I got out gathering my dress from his car and closed the door behind me. He stood in front of me. The streetlights shining brightly on his perfectly messy hair. His eyes reflected the moon behind me.
"Well, thank you for everything, with Duke..." I said before he interrupted me.
"No need to thank me. That was wrong on so many levels. I would never tolerate such behavior from any man." He said to me sounding convincing.
"Thank you for everything, really. I had a better time than I could have ever imagined." I said smiling at him.PLEASE VOTE BEFORE CONTINUING!! THANK YOU ;)
