"Ma'am, your sister has passed away. We will take her body to the morgue, and you will be called in for a testimony after her autopsy. Don't leave your house for the next twenty-four hours." He said then turned around to go back inside the bathroom.
Rodrique stopped him with his one hand before he could enter the bathroom again.
"Can I take her to my place rather? I will go to the police station and confirm it. I don't want her to be here." He asked him.
"That's fine. You should go to the station within the next hour and explain the situation." He said then walked back into the bathroom.
Rodrique led me into my bedroom and sat down with me on my bed, still holding me tight against him. I looked at the bathroom door from where I was sitting, I only saw the bright outline of the door from the light inside. After a few minutes they came out with a stretcher. There was a body bag on top of it. They carried it downstairs, and I followed them to the front door.
I watched as the opened the doors at the back of the ambulance and pushed the stretcher inside, the lights were still on, on top of the ambulance's roof. They walked to the front of the vehicle and got inside before driving away without talking to us again. Rodrique stood behind me the whole time. I saw his Audi parked in the street outside.
"I'll get you a few things quickly, then I will report what had happen and that you will be with me for the next twenty-four hours and I'll take responsibility of you." Rodrique said to me.
I just stood there staring at the road. He closed the door which forced me to move. He ran upstairs, and I sat down on the couch. He came back after a few minutes with one of my bags over his shoulder. He grabbed my two cats in each hand and walked outside. He came back and walked towards me.
"Come; let me take you to the car." He said and held out his hand to me.
I took his hand and followed him out the front door. He locked the front door behind us and walked to his car to open the door for me. He drove to the nearest police station.
"Wait here. I won't be long." He said before he got out and locked the car.
I looked at the back seat to find me Tom and Cruize sitting there, watching me. I started crying again. My heart was numb and it felt like there was a rock in my stomach. I laid my head back against the car seat and closed my eyes. The warm tears kept running down my cheeks. I heard the car door open and opened my eyes to see Rodrique getting in. He drove to the hotel. I just sat there; I didn't have the energy to even open the car door. He grabbed my bag and cats after opening the door for me. I got out, and he closed it with his hip. He walked inside the hotel, and I followed him up to his suite. After setting the cats on the floor he closed the door behind me. I walked to the couch and sat down.
Tom jumped on the couch and rubbed his head against me. I put my hand on his head, and he moved his head away because my hand got heavy.
Rodrique walked into his bedroom with my bag and came out with a small blanket. He threw it over my legs, and I moved back so I could lie down on the couch. I just lied there, staring out in front of me, emotionless.
I didn't have any thoughts. My brain was in shock. It was like that for a while until everything became a reality to me. I had so many questions. I thought about everything she said the night before.
"Will you lie with me, please?" I asked him without looking his direction.
He got up, climbed over my body and lay down behind me. I didn't move. He got under the blanket and put his arm around me.
I felt calmness over me for the first time. The shock was fading in my body and left only sorrow in its place. I didn't want to be alone. The sadness will cover my body like the body bag they carried my sister's corpse in. I couldn't go through this again.
I saw my mother and father meeting my sister at the gates of heaven. She wore a long white dress and didn't have any wounds or scars. She hugged them, and they all reunited and disappeared into the gates together.
My thoughts immediately changed to the morgue.
She's lying on the cold steel table. She was naked and only covered with a white sheet. They cut into her skull and chest, all the way down to her stomach. The blood ran down the table into the drain beneath her feet. The tag around her big toe read: 'Cleone Brooks. Life didn't know a way to stop the pain...' They took out her organs and threw them into a steel bucket.PLEASE VOTE BEFORE CONTINUING!! THANK YOU ;)
