Chapter 19: The Date
One Week Later
"Ms. Miele, Mr. Kazilieris wanted you to have this" the chauffeur handed me a white envelope and a bouquet of flowers. It is huge with some tulips and red roses.
When I was little, I always wanted flowers, I even had a line of pots in front of our porch in Sao Paulo. They wither, yes, but it is like a routine for me to take care of them at a young age. It is like farmville 7D.
My dad has been consistently bringing bouquets during Valentine's day and that made me dream of that one day, I'd receive one. Sadly, no man had handed me one, not until James. Which was a failed one night dinner.
Today is a bright Saturday morning, Jones, the personal driver of Costa fetched me from my place for a lunch out.
Just thinking about it makes my heart lurched in happiness. It wasn't really like Costa to ask me out, even if he insist this isn't a date, then what the hell would you call it?
He has a wife, I get that.
But a girl like me is free to dream. Finally a guy I liked and respects me shows up on my front door with flowers and all the good things, unfortunately for me, he's married and I'm the secret he liked to keep.
From the past week he stays most nights in my apartment saying Xenia is out of town for a runway show in Milan. Those nights, my face flushed as I inhaled the sweet scent of flowers. It is overwhelming. But the good kind. We shared a night of passion and wild sex. A type of night that makes me sigh in satisfaction before sleep consumes me.
I also had known him a lot better which was a bonus, and wasn't supposed to be a thing I have to pay much attention to. But I did anyways.
Costa is a very busy man. He takes business calls even late at night and he shifts in bed too much for someone who is asleep. He likes his pancake free from syrup or butter, he fidgets with the watch he wore when he's being nervous, furrows his brows and bit his tongue when concentrating. Those small things, I knew I shouldn't mind but I did.
The car stopped at the local park a couple minutes from the center plaza, cutting my thoughts.
The park wasn't much on the eyes, but since it is saturday, the kids are all around with their families. Under the tress having some picnic, running around the playground, doing ball games on the clear field. It sums up to be a lively morning for them and I too.
"Thank you Jones" I gave him a smile and patted his shoulder before he hastily left his seat and beat me to opening the back door.
I giggled at his slight bowing of the head and shook my head.
"Mr. Kazilieries said he'll meet you by the pond"
I muttered some gratitude walked my way to the busy park. In the right handside corner stood an angel statue and a pond situated. I smiled to myself and paced to where Costa would be waiting.
A kiss on the forehead was what I got as a greeting. "Hey" I grinned.
"You look amazing, you love the flowers?" he queried, Costa's hand warmed the small of my back as he eyed the bouquet on the crook of my arm.
I nodded and thanked him, "I never really received flowers this big"
"Then I'll be your first" he muttered as he interlinked his huge right hand with my left, walking down the small bridge towards the benches nearby.
"So what have you planned for us today? Your wife will be back tonight?" I questioned when we settled down one of the white chairs.
A family circled in front of us who looks like having a great time, 2 kids were playing while the parents ate their sandwiches together.
