Chapter 36: Compromise
My eyes squinted open and I strecthed my limbs, accidentally kicking off the slim candle centerpiece from the low table by the sofa. Earning a small clink.
Inhaling, I smelled bacons and heard the sound of someone frying something in the kitchen.
Costa?
My upperbody instantly jolted upwards and reached for my mobile phone. I turned it on, and a couple unanswered calls notified me. Cyan can suck his dick, I do not care right now.
"Oh my god" I whispered in surprise knowing that half of the day has gone with me being asleep. It is fucking half past 12. My stomach is grumbling and I think I'm getting nauseous from all the things that has been happening lately.
I fixed my messed up hair in a quick bun, laying my head back down on the couch. After I feel better, I stood up and walked towards the kitchen, phone on hand. There, I found Costa. Expertly doing the cooking inside the kitchen.
I wouldn't mind waking up to this, but it still makes my decision final. We have to stop.
"You know, you don't have to make food" I started and gave it all my strength to say this, my voice raspy from sleep.
The man's back stiffened, his hands stopped stiring the bacons.
I sighed, "You can finish up and go"
I still need to have grocery shopping so might as well escape this man and freshen up before I go weak on him and let him stay for a while longer.
"We still have to have that talk remember?" he voiced but I walked towards the room I stay in speaking over my shoulder, "I don't think there's anything to talk about"
Better to just ditch him than straight out tell him to fucking leave me alone right? Now I'm sounding weak...
I locked my door and breathe heavily, this shit is making me anxious and I'm regretting letting him in last night. My bile trying to rise again. The left over pizza is such a dick.
There came a knock on my door, heavy and firm, making me jump forward and turned facing the door.
"Dione, open the door" Costa said.
I shook my head no, my hand laid flat on my chest as I stared at the closed wooden barrier that separates us. The grip I have on my phone is hard.
He knocked again, "Dione I know you can hear me. Just open the door"
Then my phone blasted, "Shit" I muttered and saw Wayne calling.
"Dione, I'm sorry. Cyan was worried about you, I just had to pass by a-and I got stuck" he spoke up.
My phone continued ringing making me more dizzy from all the prwssure everywhere.
I placed my phone down at the edge of the made bed and went inside the bathroom semi-running. I couldn't just stand there and hear out the words that would most prolly change my mind. I knelt down the toilet and puked my guts out.
One thing is for sure, I am a weakling.
After emptying my bad stomach and flushing the loo, I took off my sleepwear and undies, stepping inside my small shower and letting the hot water drizzle down my face and body.
Here I couldn't catch what Costa was saying and the ringing on my phone was blurred. It isn't the most peaceful place but I won't complain.
I had a rough month, I lost my best friends and I somehow forgotten the only rule I need to comply to. I shouldn't have had attachments. I should've left when the moment came where it was hard for me to leave. At least it was bearable, now... I'm just downright afraid.
