There was a light knock on the door, and Tessa could tell from the lightness that it was Peter. Her heart fluttered as she instructed him to come in.

A beat later the door slowly opened, and Peter poked his head in. He directed a smile toward her and walked in, closing the door behind him. He pulled a chair up to her bed and plopped himself down, smiling up at her.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, and she shrugged. "I feel better than yesterday, but I'm not fully healed yet, I should be fine by the end of today. Thanks for checking in, Peter, it really means a lot."

He nodded gratefully. "It's not a problem. I mean, considering that we kind of have to hang out now, it's the least I can do."

She looked up at him with hurt eyes, water glistening in them. "Oh, god! That's not what I meant! I want to hang out with you, I really, really do."

She bobbed her head, but her eyes were still hung with sorrow. "I'll see you in school tomorrow?"

Acknowledging that she was telling him to leave, he nodded slowly. He hadn't intended to be mean to her since he really did enjoy hanging out with her.

"I'll see you." And with that, the boy left, leaving her to lean her head back against the pillow with a big, long, sad sigh.

"Are you sure you're up for school?" Tony asked, swiping a stray piece of hair behind his daughter's ear. She nodded slowly while putting her backpack on. She collected her books and went back in front of him. "I can't miss another day, I'll have too much work to make up. I'll be fine, Dad." "Promise that you'll call if you need to come home?" "I promise."

Tessa walked over to the main doors, and stopped in front of them to wave. "Bye, I love you." "I love you, kid."

She jumped down the stairs and toward the school, which was roughly a fifteen minute walk. Today was sunny and the weather was much warmer than yesterday, making a smile tug on her lips.

"Tessie! Tessie!"

The girl rolled her eyes as the school bully, Flash, kept on calling from behind her. She sped up her walk, keeping her books tight against her.

Suddenly, she was flying forward, legs collapsing from under her due to Flash shoving her hard. She fell on her knees, scraping them, along with her palms. She grunted in anger and began to scramble around to pick up her textbooks, and she got two out of the three before Flash could intervene.

The man quickly bent over and snatched up the third book, chemistry. She got back up to her feet and outstretched her arm, "I need that."

"Oh, does Tessie Woodie needy thisy?" Flash taunted, and it took her whole being to not reveal that she has abilities and slam his sorry ass into the ground. And to make things worse, she couldn't even threaten him, because he would figure out that her father was involved, so the only choice she had was to stay low.

Tessa jerked her hand out in an attempt to grab the textbook, but Flash recoiled quick enough with a wide, devious smirk. He then whipped the textbook behind him, and it landed directly in the fountain right outside of the school.

She gasped and covered a hand over her mouth, "What the hell, Flash! That's a hundred dollars!"

"Oops." The boy shrugged, then stalked away with his posse right behind him.

Not even getting into the school, Tessa was already turned around, walking back to her home furiously. She dialed her father's number into her phone, then lifted it into her ear.
