Despite her previous remark, Tessa didn't inform her father of what was happening, and covered her cuts with an easy lie. "Friendly neighborhood protector, I think it's a good place for me. Stopped a robbery, got a little scratched up, no big deal."

"I don't know how I feel about you going out there, Tessie. . ."

"I'll be fine, Dad. This helps me practice my abilities, I'm becoming better and saving people. I like this."

"You're right, you can hold your own."

Tessa was frustrated. She couldn't believe that Peter asked her to hide something from her father, but yet, she did it. She feared of letting him down, and she didn't exactly know why.

She was frustrated because Peter likes Liz, the senior. Being friends with him could never be the same, because she always wanted to believe that something could happen between them, but now, nothing could.

The girl didn't want to see Liz Allen ever again, but unfortunately, she still had a class with her. To make things worse, on the day of Liz's party, Peter caught up to her in the hallway while she was walking to lunch.

Peter walked next to her, and looked over to cast her a devious smile. "So, are you going to Liz's party tomorrow?"

Tessa's head immediately snapped to him, jealously boiling in her veins. "No." She stated flatly, then turned her head back forward and to the bustling hallway.

"Well, would you come?" Her head turned back again, shock settling into her core. "What?"

"Would you come with me and Ned? I'm nervous, I've never been to a party before."

"And you think I have?"

"It would just make me feel better if you came. Come on, help me out, I kind of told people that I knew who the sidekick of Spider-Man is. . ."

"Lying to my dad isn't helping you out enough, Peter?" She fired, anger evident in her eyes. He recoiled, not expecting the attitude. "You're right, forget it."

The girl's classroom was on her right, so she turned into it, leaving him behind to ponder what got her in a bad mood so suddenly.

"Last time I recall, you said you hated parties?" Tony questioned suspiciously, squinting down at his daughter. "Well, I've never gone to one, so how would I know?"

That's right, Tessa cracked. If Peter asked her to go to Liz Allen's party, then she'd go, no matter how much she didn't want to, even if he was using her in some way. Since her and the boy were now friends, she didn't want to let him down, even though she wanted to be more with him.

She just seemed to be so angry and sad at the same time when she was around Peter. He somehow brought out the worst and best in her, which was odd. It hurt, but she couldn't just stop being his friend, considering they're now in this Power stone situation together, hence her asking her father if he would give her a ride.

"Are you going because of Peter?" Her father asked with a mischievous smirk, which only made her heart ache and burn. "He asked me to go with him."

"So, how are you two doing?" He sat down on the chair and put his chin on his palm, intently waiting for his daughter to spill the beans on the newfound relationship. Only problem was that there wasn't a relationship between them, it was with Peter and Liz.

"Friends, nothing more." She stated plainly, going over to the counter to grab an apple out of the fruit bowl. Her father's smirk was still there as he asked, "You sure about that?"
