It was the day of Homecoming. Everyone chattering in hallways, banners being hung up, today was the special day that she didn't get to go to. She kept her head hung low, and stared at her feet as she moved through the hallways quickly, practically invisible by all.

During third period, Tessa felt as if her mind was about to explode and felt a panic attack coming on, so she asked if she could go to the bathroom. The teacher let her, handing over the gigantic hall pass and ushering her out.

She walked down the empty hallway quickly, and she turned the final corner to the bathroom, and then stopped.

In front of her in the middle of the hallway were Peter and Liz, and she was smiling down at him as he asked her to homecoming. He looked up upon seeing movement, and she sprinted to the bathroom right there, slamming a stall close behind her.

Pain. Heartache. Everything in her physically hurt, her heart felt as if it were on fire. The world around her seem disoriented as she fell onto the toilet seat, and slapped her hands to her face to wipe away the foredooming tears.

Peter had moved on. She could read his mind, every single last inch of it in her fall, and she remembered all of it as if it were the back of her hand. He loved her, and now, he's moved on.

And it stung.

The night of homecoming had rolled upon, and Tessa was stuck sitting in the living room, looking up at her legs, which were against the wall. She was staring at the black band around her ankle, and then she lifted up her hand to try and create a sphere, but nothing spawned. She grunted in frustration and leaning up to grab at the band. She yanked at it, tugging and tugging, but it didn't budge. She sighed and leaned back on the couch, looking up at the ceiling.

Peter's right now picking Liz up and anticipating the time of their lives. Meanwhile, I'm stuck here, a sensor on my ankle because my father doesn't trust me.

Tessa stood up and stomped up to the roof angrily.

He's completely moved on, why wouldn't he? Liz is absolutely perfect, nothing is wrong with her. I live in the shadows of Stark Tower, no one knows who I even am. I'm living a fake life as a perfect girl who goes to a science school, when in reality, I'm just about the most lethal person on the planet. I have so many problems, of course he wouldn't want to deal with that.

The cold wind zipped through her black hair, making it flow behind her. She went to the edge of the roof and sat down, legs hanging off the side of the tall building. She looked out at the city below her and was amazed by all of the glittering lights littering the bustling streets.

There were kids riding bikes, cars beeping at pedestrians, and people holding hands while strolling down the sidewalk. I want that. But I want it with Peter.

She jumped slightly when her phone in her pocket began to vibrate. She stood up and walked away from the ledge, taking her phone out to see who was calling her. It was a number that she didn't have in her phone, and she shoved it back into her pocket.

Only for it to go off again with the same number. She shrugged and answered it, lifting it to her ear, "Hello?"

"Tessa!" Peter Parker's startled voice vibrated through the phone, and her blood ran cold. Why was he calling her? To rub it in her face that he's at homecoming with the girl of his dreams?

"Oh thank god, I need your help! Meet me at the school, pronto!"

Tessa frowned, looking down at the stairs back to her home. Her father, he would be beyond disappointed if he knew she had snuck out to help Peter. But yet, he wasn't home, in fact, hardly anyone was, being too focused on moving the weapons to the Avengers Tower.

"I, I don't know." She answered slowly, shaking her head. She didn't want to make her father even more mad at her, but yet, Peter needed her. But did he really?

"Tessa, this is it, it's all been leading to this. Vulture is going to go after the airplanes of weapons that your father is sending out, and he's going to manipulate them all and turn them into his own with the Power stone. He's bringing every single piece of the stone with him, we can stop him there. We can end this, Tessa, we need to end this, now."

The girl ran down the stairs, phone still up to her ear. "Where is he now?"

"He's in a warehouse on 34th street. I'll tell you everything once you get here, but you gotta get to the school now."

She ran to the kitchen and grabbed the sharpest knife that she could find, and placed her leg up on a chair. "I need to deal with something first, I'll be there as soon as I can."

With that, she hung up the phone and threw it onto the counter, replacing it with the knife. She leaned down and grabbed the band around her ankle, and began to hack away at it. The first stab caused sparks to fly up, and she kept at it, whacking the sharp knife at the band.

Suddenly, the red light was blinking again, and the lock fell off. She yanked the rest of it off and threw it to the floor, stomping on it once before taking off.

Tessa was in the midst of running back onto the roof when she saw Happy Hogan standing a few feet away from the door. He turned once he saw her, and casted her a grave look.

"I've been Tony Stark's assistant and bodyguard for about twenty years now, Theresa, and I have not failed him." Happy said, standing with a tall posture, determined to keep her inside.

"I'm only going to ask once, get out of the way, Hogan."

"I'm afraid I can't do that, especially if you are without your powers. I got informed very strict orders, you know. I can't bend the rules, even for you, Theresa."

"Well," She said, cracking her fingers all at once. "I hope you can forgive me, then."

Tessa stretched her arms to her sides, a sphere meeting in the middle. It took control of Happy's movements, and he grunted as she forced him to go to his knees.

"If you do this, your father will never forgive you." He hissed.

"I'm saving the city, or better yet, the planet. He may not be able to forgive me, but he will understand."

With that, she took a step forward, and pushed her hands down. Happy broke through the floor roughly, and then through five more floors. Not wanting to kill him, she stopped there, and jumped past the hole and onto the roof.

Once she was up there, she ran to the ledge and leapt off, gearing up her powers and forming her suit around her. From there, she soared to the school, anxious to get to Peter.
