Chapter Three- For Tonight
________
Approximately One Month LaterMy third period class was always such a nightmare. I hated Calculus with all of my heart and soul, but I needed the A to sustain my GPA. School was rolling down hill, and graduation was coming soon, with two more months to go.
I had yet to hear from the colleges I applied to yet, and the thought of being rejected scared the living life out of me. My dad wanted me to be a lawyer once the "singing stuff" died down. He said that it was an unstable career and I shouldn't focus on it as much as I usually did. Did I really wanna be a lawyer? That's a thought to think about, but I knew I didn't wanna disappoint my dad.
I sat in the front of the class jotting down notes, when my phone began buzzing like crazy. Looking down at it I realized it was Rose who sat not too far from my desk, just a few rows down and over. "Mr. Ryan wants to meet with us after school," I sighed. Mr. Ryan wasn't really the person I craved to see very often.
"Okay," I simply texted back, putting my phone back and continuing to take notes, learning about the boringness that was Calculus. I was so ready to leave high school at this point and wanted nothing more than to do so.
The day rolled around very slowly and dragged on for eternity seemingly. When we were released all I wanted to do was go home and sleep, but we had this stupid meeting with Mr. Ryan. I rode in the car with Rose. It was the car she got for her birthday and she was so stoked about it, and I was still awaiting to get a new one since the first I had crashed into a tree. I was still surprised that Jason let me drive his car, since I was the clumsiest driver of all time.
Every once in a while I thought about that night. It was one of the funnest I'd ever experienced...well besides a thirty thousand dollar dress being torn. Working with him was in fact the best things that happened that night. We finished a whole song in only a couple of hours, but time went by so fast with him that I didn't even notice it. By the time we were done, it was almost 5 in the morning, especially since afterwards we stopped for ice cream. I had to lie about why I hadn't came back from the party hours early, which resulted in Rose and Meg thinking I had sex with some random man. I'd rather they thought that, then for them to know I was making music without them, anyway...
We arrived at the corporate office almost directly on time, although we usually arrived late and Mr. Ryan never favored that. He was a bugger on time management. "Hi Mr. Ryan!" Rose practically shouted as we entered his office.
"You guys are late," He said, rambling through the papers he held before stacking them neatly on his desk.
"We know, we came from school which is a 30 minute drive from here,"
"Okay okay, whatever. Sit down girls," He shook it off, which was something he rarely did. "I have something to tell you guys and I think you'll be delighted to here. I brought you guys here so I could see the reaction on you faces," We all looked at each other in suspicion, wondering if one of us knew what the other didn't, but nothing was to be found. We were all equally as clueless
"You guys are going to Miami." We all collectively gasped.
"Paris?! Like-like the France one?!" Meg asked...stupidly.
"Yes, you're performing at a fashion show there during fashion week. It's in four weeks, very last minute I understand, you're singing Starlight," I wanted to groan. God damnit I was so sick of that song by now.
"Yayy!" Meg and Rose squealed.
"You start rehearsals on Saturday at 5 same spot, same people nothing's changed," This meant being nagged by Madame Kraw again, she was our choreographer. Rose gasped.
