Studio sessions were always a favorite of mine, especially since Joe was the most amazing person ever. He was the one producing our demo that we would be giving to Mr. Stonehall, the Head of A&R of Big Rock Records. This. Was. Huge.

We'd been trying to get signed since forever and the UMA performance gave us the exposure we needed. BR Records was one of the largest labels in the country, and if anything went wrong all of our hard work would just go down the drain.

At the end of the week, we had to audition for them, sing in front of them. It was a horrifying thought really, just one flaw could mess everything up.

Meg and Rose were late, as always which lead to me and Joe conversing alone...mostly complaining about their lateness. "Those girls are 20 minutes late. What the fuck are they doing?!" He shouted.

"No clue, I've called them a thousand times," He sighed. This was nothing new, never. I bet right now they were leaving a restaurant right about now or flirting with the guys downstairs.

When the door bursted open I expected it to be one of the girls, but I was wrong. There, in the doorway, stood a familiar face of a boy who carried a box in his hands. I knew that face...I just didn't know where from. "Here's the mail you asked for," He grunted as he put it down on the table on the seating area. I eyed him continuously, wondering why his face was stained in my mind.

"Thanks, Z. Now, I need you to sweep the booth,"

"Yes Sir-ry," He caught my glance and winked at me.

"Do I know you?" I finally said. He sized me up and down with his eyes, making me feel not only insecure but uncomfortable.

"I wish," He blinked his dark brown eyes and continued his walk to the cleaning closet where he grabbed a broom along with a dustpan.

I shook it off, realizingI was probably being weird. Maybe he was on Tv? Somehow I saw him in a commercial or something. I shrugged.

I didn't know, I really didn't.

Alas, the girls arrived both beaming in excitement that was quickly shut out by Joe's intolerance for their lateness. "Where the hell were you two?" He asked them, the assertiveness growing at the back of his throat. Rarely did I even see him from, he was too nonchalant for that, but today was understandably different. We were working on our insanely important demo with the deadline being not too far from today.

"Joe, we're sorry we really are, but we have good news!" Rose threw her bag down on one of the couches before moving to us.

"This has to be important," He said.

"It is! We bought CJ tickets before they were sold out!!" Joe palmed his face. CJ was a new upcoming artist who was probably one of the most talented human beings I'd ever seen in my life, all the girls drooled over him. They were lucky enough to get tickets, and I was a little bummed that I couldn't get any.

"Now now, we know you're gonna get mad but this was important!" Meg pleaded. Uninterested, Joe rolled his eyes.

"Can we just get to work?"

"Yes!"

For the next three hours we were there in the studio, while the mystery man named Z did such tasks for Joe. I knew one day my mind could pin them pieces together of who on Earth he was, but until now I had other things to worry about.

Afterwards, I went straight home to finish up any homework. There was a knock at my door, interrupting my homework session. "It's open!"

Slowly, my door swung open and Louanne peeped her head in. "Dinner's ready," I nodded.
