"Cheers!" We yell as we throwback some shots at a local bar.
After dinner, We went our separate ways. The guys to the bachelor party and the girls to the bachelertte party. And here we are three hours and an unknown amount of drinks later. Jessa had thought it'd be great to take fireball shots in honor of Jack!
I have to admit I was starting to feel the alcohol.
"Another round!" Jessa insisted. I think she's had a little too much.
"I think I'm good." I protest.
"Bitch! You are not done until I say so!" she laughs and hugs me. "Oh my god! Dez, I've misses you so much. I cant believe my wedding's tomorrow."
Elexcia stood up and excused herself to the restroom. I invited her only cause I felt wrong not to.
Krista left with Elexcia and Rome stared in awe. "Jeez! Why is she so perfect looking?"
Jessa and I looked at her. "What?!"
"Well, look at her. I don't see anything wrong with her besides that stick in her ass."
We both burst out laughing because of how true it was. Elexcia was nice looking but she was really stuck up.
"Rome, oh my god!" I said in between spurts of laughter.
"What?" She said "Tell me you don't agree!"
"I agree but how does she do it? No wonder her and Kellin are together." A wave if sadness hits me out of nowhere.
"Dez, you okay?" Rome asked worried.
"Of course, just tired." I answer, not wanting to bring down the mood. I don't even know what was wrong. Why did I get this feeling?
" Are you reminiscing about you and kellin ?" says Jessa.
"Wait! YOU used to be with Kellin? YOU!?" I hear someone say loudly. I look up to see Elexcia with disbelief on her face.
"Um, yeah kinda." Why is it so surprising?
"No way!" She laughs. "Seriously?!" Anger was beginning to build up inside. What the fuck was her problem? Did she think I couldn't get someone like Kellin.
" what do you mean by that?" I was pissed.
"No offense, Honey, but look at you and look at him," She looks me up and down, judgedly,"You aren't exactly his type. No wonder he left."
"Look at me? What's wrong with me?"
"Well, you're kind of.... plain and a little thick." Did this bitch just call me fat?! Omg, I swear I am going to punch that smug look off her face. I stand up and get closer.
"For your information, I LEFT HIM!"
She scoffs, "Sure you did."
"Guys, let's just all take a chill pill. Its in the past" Krista gets in between us to try to stop the escalating situation.
"Yeah, exactly. You are the past and I'm his future so have a seat, hun. " Elexcia says with a smirk.
I lunge at her face but never connect because Rome and Jessa grab me. "Let me go!"
"Dont let her get to you!" Rome says.
"Whose side are you on?" I yell.
"No ones side Dez. We just think you don't need to fight." Jessa gives me a look. "This is my party so let's chill."
"You think, I'm going to let that bitch say that shit to me." They refuse to let me go as I struggle to get free.
"I'm gonna go smoke, let go of me." They release me and I storm off. The nerve of that dumb stuck up barbie looking bitch. Why wouldn't he want me? Im pretty! Smart! Fun! Right?
Maybe she's right. I mean, why would someone like him want me when they could have girls like that? No! I was not going to let her get to me.
I wish I could have wiped that dumb look off her face.
I sat outside smoking. I must have looked really pissed off or something because a girl walking out says, "Just call him and work it out."
"What?" I asked confused.
"Sorry, you look mad so I figured you were fighting with a boyfriend. Don't end the night mad. Call him." She hopped in her car and sped off.
Call him. Hmm. You know what? I smile to myself. I should call him,that would show that bitch! I start to pull out my phone. Wait, I'm not going to do that. The alcohol is making me think bad thoughts Just as I was about to put my phone away, it starts ringing. It showed A unrecognized number.
"Hello?" I answer hesitantly.
"DEZ!" I hear a familiar voice say.
"Kellin?"
"Yes! surprised?"
"Um... yeah. How'd you get my number?"
"I have my ways." I could tell he's smiling on the other end.
"So what do you want?" I say a little short. I wanted to know why he was calling but didn't want to seem like I had just been thinking of him two seconds before my phone rang.
"Do you not want to talk to me?" He asked sadly.
"No" I say quickly. Shit! What was the right thing to say?
"No? I mean I do!" That's not what I meant either. " I mean...shit. What do you want Kells?"
"Kells. I miss hearing you say that." I sit in silence. How many late nights after I left had I thought about him.
" I missed you, Dez." He says softly. I dont know what to say. Do I admit I missed him too? I didn't answer quick enough. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have called. I just thought...I dont know. It was a dumb move. I'll just go. Im sorry." I didn't want him to hang up but another part of me did. My emotions were everywhere and the alcohol wasn't making it easy to think straight.
"No, don't go! I missed you too." I blurt out.
"You did?"
"Yes I did" I say quietly. "A lot."
"Wish I could see you." He whispered on the other end making my heart skip a beat. "Do you think I could see you tonight?"
"When? Why?"
"Because I need to see you." He then quickly added "Just to talk. I'll pick you up."
"What will I tell Jessa and everyone?"
"I don't know, tell them you don't feel well or don't say anything at all." I want to really go with him but i know this is wrong. I shouldn't even be considering this. I try to think straight but its hard as I picture those green eyes. i feel like I can't breathe.
"Dezirae?" I love when says my name.
The door opens and Rome sticks her head out. "Hey, are you coming back in? Elexcia thinks she scared you away."
As I picture that smirk, I make up mind, "Come get me."
"On my way!" I hang up and stand up, facing Rome.
"Rome, can you do me a favor? Tell Jess and the girls I'll text them later and not to wait up for me."
"Aure but where are you going?"
"To see an old friend." I smile. She looks at me then almost as if she can read my mind, she says, "Be careful, okay? but let whatever going to happen, happen..don't be scared."
"Thanks, Rome."
"Have fun!" She winks "Don't do anything I wouldn't." She leaves me with my thoughts. I take a deep breathe. Am I really doing this? Am I going to meet up with Kellin? I wonder what will happen?
A car pulls up and the window rolls down. Kellin sits smiling in the drivers seat. "Hey, beautiful."
"Hey." I say as I get into the car. He grabs my hand and squeezes it.
