As I unlock the door of my house, standing on the olive-green threshold, I can almost glimpse two feet tapping on the floor. Is it a theif or something? No, it's just mom, well, a theif would visit me more than mom does and I really wasn't expecting mom at all, what does she want? I didn't bother to say hello, I just walk past her to the small kitchenette so I can get something to eat- I didn't eat at the party's buffet - because I am starving.
"Don't you think it's too late?" She finally breaks the silence like a piece of soft glass.
"Do you really care?"
"Don't talk to me like that!"
"Oh, I have seen you shout at me for about four or five times in my whole 16-year-old life mother! Did you know that?"
She just shuts her mouth and I can percieve she's sheepish.
"Why did you even bother and come?"
"Nothing, I came to check on you." She lies.
"You're kidding me right? What do you want mum? Is it about that date again?"
"Well.. please Katilyn , I beg you!"
"Mum, forget it, I told you I'm not going."
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"No, I don't and even if I have one I won't even let you know."
"Then why don't you want to go?"
"Well, I can't go on a date that you have *scheduled* for me!"
She didn't respond, she just started sobbing and shedding tears, I swear I never saw her like that since Blake died. "
"Mum, are you okay?"
"Please Kaitlyn, do me this favor."
I don't want to see her like that, though I am 100% sure she doesn't give a shit about me.
"Okay, Mum."
"Really? Thank you darling, I can't believe that!!" She keeps hugging and kissing me.
Mum doesn't care about me at all, I'd rather have a poor, caring mother than a rich, careless one.
"What's the name of the guy I'm going out with?"
"Harry." She says with a wide , fake smile, making my legs too heavy to walk.
"Harry? No, Kaitlyn ofcourse he is not Harry that I met at the party, they both surely share similar names nothing more." I tell myself in my mind.
Harry's POV.
"No, dad I'm not going on a date with a girl I don't even know!" I yell at him, not believing I am.
"You are going to get to know her when you see her , simple."
"It is not as simple as you think!"
"Yes it is, she's a good girl that can totally change your grubby life that you've been living recently!"
"Dad, forget it , I already have a girlfriend."
"Do you call Laura your girlfriend? She's a mucky, immoral, substandard girl! "
"She loves me dad!"
" She loves your money, and you are going on this date whether you like it or not! If you don't go I would never bother to ask about you!"
"Dad? You are joking right?"
"I never crack jokes, you heard me."
"Okay dad , I'll go, but under one condition."
"Which is?"
"That you won't let me go for another date with any other girl."
"I can tell you from now that if you just saw her , you wouldn't want to go on any other dates , haha." he teases.
"What is her name then?"
"Kaitlyn Smith."
"Kaitlyn? I heard this name before, I just can't remmeber when, I'm just a bit tipsy, that's why I can't function properly." I tell myself.
"Phillips!"
"Yes, sir?"
"Order 4 suits for Harry with different fabrics. Don't forget their ties, shirts and well-polished pairs ofshoes. They should be ready by tommorow at 3 o'clock. " he tells Phillips, our Turkish servant.
"Yes, sir." He replies politely.
"Whatever." I mutter.
Kaitlyn's POV.
I stagger to my room, take off my dress and wear my favourite fushia-pink PJs. I lay on my bed, staring at the turquoise ceiling, thinking about my miserable day,At first from people's glares and rude-ass comments till a date with an anonymous person. Is he tall? Or short? Chubby? Or slender? Is he a weirdo nerd? Or a handsome player? I just don't know. Sleep drags me from my unending thoughts , I can probably feel that. Those times when you are asleep , but you are totally awake and you know you are sleeping. You can feel your mind recognizing every single thing, while your body is resting and isn't moving. When you can't crack open your eyes but, you badly want to.
