Bright colours and good times, the LGBTQ+ pride is a time of celebration and acceptance. Celebration of the community and acceptance of the individuals in it. It is a time of freedom and joy. But Pride gatherings are more than that too. They are rooted in the arduous history of minority groups who have struggled for decades to overcome prejudice and be accepted for who they are. Now, with the decriminalisation of Section 377 of the IPC, we in India have taken yet another step towards the ultimate goal: a society devoid of discrimination.
