This new guy, Ian, is really starting to get on my nerves. He's rude and obnoxious, not to mention big-headed. He thinks he's better than the rest of us sitting in the circle.

Andrea is crying and talking about something that happened at play rehearsals the other day when Ian starts to laugh.

Everyone looks at him. I glare at him with annoyance.

"What are you laughing at, Ian?" Dr. Hunter asks.

Ian smirks, "Oh, nothing. It's just that she's being so dramatic."

Andrea glares at him. "Excuse me?"

Ian leans forward. "I said that you're being dramatic, princess."

She sniffles and wipes her tears off her face. "How about you stop judging me and assuming things, because you don't know anything about me. And we're all here for a reason, you know."

Ian sits back and crosses his arms. His mouth opens, but Dr. Hunter cuts him off.

"Andrea's right," he says, "We are all here for a reason. How about we talk about purpose this week?"

"Lame," Ian groans.

Luke, sitting next to me, rolls his eyes.

Dr. Hunter ignores the rude teenager and asks us individually what we think our purposes are. We finish the discussion with another poorly-made old video with the same three actors.

After the video we're dismissed. We all stand from our chairs and file out of the door.

When we get outside, Luke jingles his car keys.
"Need a ride?"

"Of course."
