Dear Diary,
So when I got back to my rebuilt apartment, ANAKIN WAS BACK!!!!
I've never been so happy in my life to see him. Okay I probably have, but the reality that he could be killed at anytime is just too real.
So anyways, I walked into my apartment and set down my suitcase. Typho left without coming in, (which was a good thing, due to my surprise visitor)
I enter and take a minute to study the new part of my house: the living room now had a large window with a straight view of the Jedi Temple. Convenient huh? The furniture was all new and seemed nicer than my old things. I guess a little renovation couldn't hurt.
But the real shock was when I stepped into my bedroom. kneeling by the bed was my beloved Anakin. For a second, I thought he was asleep but his head shot up and he immediately sprung to his feet. Our eyes met and the second they did, I knew. He had been crying moments ago.
His eyes stormy blue were glistening with tears. His long eyelashes were clearly moist, and a few tear stains traced his cheeks.
"Padme!" He exclaimed. We embraced passionately for a long time. Seeing him so sad brought me to tears myself. "Oh, Anakin!" I cried. I buried my face in his cloak as he stroaked my hair. "Padme... thank the Force you're okay!" I held his face in my hands and kissed him. "Thank the Force you're okay!" I kissed his cheek and tasted the hot salt-water that remained on his face. "Where were you? I got home late last night and couldn't find you. I contacted Bail Organa and he said the apartment had been attacked! Oh Padme, I was so worried..." He kissed me a dozen times before letting go. "I was so afraid Padme." He whispered in my ear.
He wiped tears from my eyes and kissed my forehead, "Don't worry Padme, I'm here now. It's alright."
But it wasn't. He would have to leave eventually. Soon. And then what would happen? I wouldn't know if he was okay until he returned home again.
"Anakin, it can't be like this. I can't do it..." I whimpered. Anakin pulled me close, "Don't say that Padme. It's okay. We'll be fine." I looked up at him, "No, I can't go for weeks without knowing where you are, if you're alive. I can't." Anakin looked me in the eyes, his eyes intensified, "Listen Padme, I promise you I will not die in this war. I spend every minute of fighting telling myself that I have to make it out. For you. I will always return to you. I swear." his voice was strong and confident.
"But I need to have contact with you. We need to know where the other is. I don't want this to be a routine thing." I complained. Anakin held my head to his chest, "We'll figure something out."
So we've come up with the plan to keep in touch. Anakin equipped R2 with a tracking device so I can contact him. He also installed a tracker in the handle of his lightsaber, so even if he isn't with R2, R2 will be able to locate him. My Japor necklace now also has a homing device that R2 can find. We set up our on private messaging channel so we can communicate via R2 and halo projector. But the signal isn't connected to major satellites so it doesn't work in many places.
But it's something. And any bit of connection to Anakin I can get, I will take!
