"So let me get this straight." The police officer began. "You're a 21-year-old man dating a centuries-old god, both of you living a peaceful life despite your violent histories."
Percy cocked his head to the side. "What do you mean, there's nothing straight about that."
Percy had moved on from plain ignorance, refusing to believe Loki was truly gone to sarcasm and dangerous resolve, locking most of his emotions away in a bottle. They'd been there for hours trying to sort everything from calming Percy down to getting the story right.
The officer sighed and shook his head. "Is there like, a law against this or something?"
Another officer in the background said, "I don't think so. I mean, you don't really see cases of gods with people these days."
Percy fought a grin and thought, there was more that you don't see. If Percy had to give the gods a motto when it came to relationships it would be 'hump and dump'. For his own gods at least. With Loki, there had been no 'dump' part. Although death tended to finalize the end of a relationship, Percy didn't intend to let even death separate them. The only thing that would keep him from finding Loki's afterlife was death itself.
Though Loki was no longer a god, they still kept up pretences purely for the sake of staying safe. Loki had many enemies and they were willing to bet that any one of them would quite happily come down and massacre Loki, given the opportunity.
So one question played on his mind.
Who knew Loki was mortal?
Tony watched the interview from the other side of the glass. His foot tapped anxiously on the ground as the interrogation drawled on. Percy's remarks gradually got more sarcastic as time passed and Tony was concerned about the drastic change in his employee- the youngest member of his family, because that's what Percy was, family. Perhaps not a member of the Avengers, but every member cared about him. As a matter of fact, after the incident of Percy being kidnapped and then being whisked off to Asgard with Thor and Loki, Tony was taking no chances and legally adopted the kid.
There was a sharp intake of breath on Tony's behalf and he froze at the question the officer next asked Percy.
It may have been a standard procedure question, but still.
Percy's voice dropped dangerously low. "You're honestly asking me if I killed Loki?"
"It's a question I have to ask. As far as we can tell you were the only one there at the scene of the crime scene-"
"I obviously wasn't, because I sure as hell didn't kill him in my sleep!" Percy growled but the officer continued, sparing a brief look at the angered demigod.
"- and both his blood was on your skin and your DNA all over his."
Percy gave the officer a fierce glare and they flinched. "I live with him. What the fuck were you expecting!" he snapped. "We sleep in the same bed!"
There was a sharp knock on the door and the officer interviewing Percy beckoned them in.
"Detective, sorry to bother you, but the autopsy report just came in. Charlotte would like to see you immediately, with Perseus. If she's right then it could clear him of any suspicion." The messenger reported.
"What's she found?"
"The victim may have been under a sleeping drug at the time of murder."

Notice the new official cover? Big thanks to the creator of it, WhenTheFireComes , who's graphic skills far surpass mine.
It hasn't been four weeks yet, but with hours and hours of driving across the States, hours of planning was doing my head in so I decided I'd write instead. So count yourselves lucky. It's not that long, but I had 20 minutes while waiting for the washing to dry.
Peace,
