the day before

Eliza kissed Alexander's knuckles, smiling into his hand. "Tomorrow is your eighteenth birthday. Are you excited?"

"Of course I am! Twenty-Four hours with just you? My heaven." Eliza giggled slightly and cuddled into Alexander's side as he continued typing on the computer.

"Tomorrow, no electronics," she mumbled, closing her eyes ever so slightly. "I don't want you working all day instead of hanging out with me." Alexander smiled and closed his laptop before wrapping his arms around Eliza.

"Of course, sweetie." Eliza looked up at Alexander.

"What do you want to do tomorrow?" Eliza asked. Alexander winked, causing Eliza to laugh. She quickly sat up and held onto his hands. "No, really. We have a whole twenty four hours together! I want to do cute couple things!" Alexander rolled his eyes teasingly. Of course Eliza would rather do 'cute couple things' other than.... ya' know.

"Okay, okay," Alex chuckled softly. "What do you want to do?" Of course Alex had the thought at the back of his mind: what if the two really weren't soulmates? But Eliza seemed so sure and... well, Alex couldn't really see himself with anyone else.

"Let's go to the beach. Let's look out at the waves and feel the sand between our toes and kiss under the warm sun. Let's got to the aquarium and look at all the fish that are frozen in the water. Maybe find other people who have the same birthday as you and make some couple-friends, I don't know. I just want to spend the day with you."

"Aww look, you're making me blush," Alex laughed. Eliza slapped his arm lightly before joining in on his quite chuckling. Soon enough the two were clutching onto each other, gasping for air. Eliza wiped tears from her black eyes as the chuckling subsided. The two interlocked their fingers.

"Tomorrow is gonna be great," she sighed, leaning into his side. The two relaxed on the Schuyler's couch, cuddling each other and softly giggling.

"I know it is." Eliza sighed happily and stared up at Alex. Alexander smiled and stared down at her.

"You know I love you, right? I love you like... a lot."

"I know," Alexander chuckled, "and I love you a lot too."
