Reader pov:

I woke up, like I do every day... To my disappointment. My alarm clock ringing loudly.

I hit my alarm clock, as to turn it off; it was time to get up and go to work. I showered and got dressed. It was now time to go to the coffee shop and like nearly everyday in England, it was raining. I sighed, grabbed my umbrella, unlocked the door and walked out.

It was a grey murky dark day, with that I knew that it was going to be a lonnngg day. 20 minutes of walking in the torrential weather, I finally arrived at the small indy coffee shop which I worked at.

Despite having worked here for over 2 years, nobody ever said hello or goodbye, nobody ever talked to me. I didn't know why though. I brushed off all the reoccurring bad thoughts that went through my mind and set to work.

Customers came and went as they pleased; I looked up at the clock on the wall, 11:30am.... I had only been here for 2h 30... My work schedule finished 17:30... I was sure darn right, it was going to be a long day.

Minutes passed by. Suddenly, the door rung, a middle aged ish woman walked in, she has a face like a wet weekend, I thought, smirking slightly to myself.

 "I heard that!" She shouted

Oh, shizzz, I said that out loud didn't I, why do I always do this, I thought. The woman glared at me from across the room. The only god send was that nobody else was in the little shop.

She grumbled to herself and stomped out of the place that I worked. Relief washed over me, she had left, one less customer, but hey. Nothing out of the ordinary, happened for the rest of the day.

Day after day passed, same old routine over and over again.

I decided to make today a little different, I was going to call my best friend and cousin, Lucy. Lucy, like me, had the same sense of humour, music ( nearly anyway) and we sometimes even thought the same, which was kind of weird; the only difference between us was that she loved sports and I didn't. She was and still is a weird girl to be around.

Lately, all Lucy would talk about, was about her crush, I don't know his name yet, but I sure know what he looks like in every detail. She was in love and mentally dating this guy; I have never really been in love and probably never will, I mean just look at where I work, not a single soul talks to me.

I texted a quick "call now?" to Lucy and waited.

Time skip.

It's been half an hour, i thought to myself.... I got up and walked down into the kitchen. I decided to boil some water to make myself a tea. Just at that moment, my phone beeped. Lucy had FINALLY replied. The reply was just "yeeeeeeeeee", sometimes i just wonder what goes through her mind. I pressed the call button;

" Hayyyyyyy" Lucy said

"Hiiiiiii"

"How was the coffee shop today then? " she enquired

"Uh, nothing unusual." I replied, i couldn't be bothered to tell her about the old woman, besides, it wasn't really that funny.

"Oh. Well i have some newssssss" said Lucy, dragging out the s

"Uh, ok"

"Guess what?!"

" What. "

"You're supposed to guess mate." She said half joking

" That guy? " I asked

"He has a name and if perhaps you ever listened to what i had to say, you would know." She laughed

" Sooo, what happened? What is his name?! "

"First of all, his name is Dan. Second of all, he has asked me out on a date!" She squealed .

"OMG, that's great Lucy!!" I squealed back

We talked for what seemed minutes, but was in fact hours. 4 hours to be precise. Then it was time for her to go her daily work out. I was alone again. I finished making my tea and brought it upstairs into my bedroom. I opened up my laptop to look at my Tumblr. I loved Tumblr, it is one of those websites where you can get lost for hours on end.

Time skip.

22:30, time for bed, i didn't bother making myself dinner, i was too lazy for that. I brushed my teeth and put my pyjamas on. I tucked myself into bed. Somewhat happy until I remembered that I had work the next day.

The next day.

My alarm rung loudly, I threw it across the room; i had just had enough, maybe i shouldn't turn up to work. I should call in sick. No, i need my paycheck, i can't not go to work. I huffed and did my morning routine. The only good thing was that it was a nice day. I took a glance at the clock before leaving... I was running late. I jogged (it was more of a fast walk)  to my work place. I opened the door hurriedly and looked at the clock. I had arrived on time. I was out of breath though. Was it worth it? Only me could answer that question and the answer was i didn't really know.
