The day went by slowly. Today was eerily quiet, which was extremely unusual. Deep in thought, I stared blankly at the condensation that was on the glace door. All the other workers had gone for their lunch break and left me on my own, as usual. I was used to it by now and I didn't really mind it.  It was some alone time, to think and get lost in thought. It was nice because I didn't have to listen to any of them rattle on about their unimportant lives. Just then someone came in. He was somewhat tall and had brownish hair that parted to one side of his face. I looked at his eyes, they were a dark shade of brown. He was attractive to say the least. I stared at him for i don't know how long, until he decided to speak up.

"Umm, excuse me? Could I have a hot chocolate please?" He asked

" Uh, yeah, i mean sure. Would you like any cream on top? "

 "No thanks."

 " Ok, that'll be £2 please. "

He passed me the £2 and went over to a bench seat in the far corner of the shop. I needed to get his phone number or something somehow. But then again it was probably going to be a waste of time. I made the hot chocolate and walked over to where he was sitting.

"Umm, here you go." I said passing him the drink

 " Thanks. "

"Do you mind if I sit here?" I asked nervously

"No, not at all. " he answered seeming happy that I asked

I stared at my hands not knowing what to say whilst he drank his hot drink.

"Best hot chocolate I have ever had." He stated

"That's good..." I said awkwardly not again knowing if that was the best response i could've said.

 "What's the matter?"

"I don't know, I am lost I guess. I hate my job, but I can't leave because this is my only income." I said sadly

" Oh, I understand.Do you have any friends? " He asked seeming genuinely interested

"Uh, only my cousin Lucy, but she moved away to live in America."

"Oh... Well if you want, you could have my phone number, we could meet up, get to know each other. You seem nice." He offered

 " Thanks" I replied quietly

I tore off a piece paper from the small grey lined note pad the shop gave us; I gave it to him along with my pen. He quickly wrote his number down on the torn piece of paper and handed it back to me as well as the pen I had given him.  I smiled slightly and so did he. We locked eyes, in that moment, I could see nothing but him. That was until he broke the eye contact to look at his watch.

"Shit, I need to get going. I am running late for work." He sort of laughed

" Ok. " not sure whether to laugh or not

He got up and walked swiftly to the door.

"Just remember, if you need me, I am one call away."

I blushed slightly, no no no NONO, why am I blushing?! I have only just met him geez.

"Thank you." I said loud enough so he could hear

"No problem and thank you for the lovely drink!"

And with that he closed the door and headed to wherever he needed to go. I grabbed the cup and walked to the dishwasher to put it away. After that, I sat down on the same black bench chair I was originally sat on when I was talking to him. I never asked him for his name. I'll find out sooner or later.

5 minutes later, my manager walked in. He was a very tall, broad and intimidating. He had a clean cut beard and wore a blue suite, which was kind of weird since he only owned a coffee shop... Or did he?

"Well?!" He said, not sounding impressed

" What? " I said in an aggravated tone

"Not only do you not talk to your superiors like that but we had a complaint about you. "

 "What was the complaint then?"

" you were rude to a customer. You need to stop being rude to customers Y/N. "

 "I don't need to." I stated

" Well I'm so sorry to break the news to you" he said sarcastically "but you're fired."

I was shocked, what have I done. If I hadn't been so rude this wouldn't of happened. I wasn't going to show him this though. His face wore a smirk, I hated him so much, so much. I wanted to slap the look off of his face.

"I don't care." I lied, throwing the note pad across the room and un tying my apron.

"Well, what are you waiting for?! Walk out the door and get lost."

I walked to the door and opened it it aggressively. I walked out and slammed it shut. I ran back home, feeling ultimate despair. What was I to do now?
