I am so sorry for missing last Sunday's update, but hopefully, I can make it up to you guys with this extra long chapter!

Months have passed since that day, and Ava was incredibly happy with how things were going. She made so many friends, but Ray was still her closest and most trusted companion. They had become incredibly close in the time span of two months. They hung out almost everyday after school either studying or just hanging out, and when they did just hangout, they either played video games or watched movies. Most of the time, they would end up cuddling, but Ava just took it as her simply being close to someone, nothing sexual.

Right now, Ava was sitting on the couch in her living room with a large t-shirt and some shorts on while drinking some coffee out of her favorite mug. She was watching Ray play Skyrim for the first time, one of her favorite games, and she was laughing her ass off because he was dying constantly at the first dragon battle.

"You little piece of shit, just fucking die already. My god, this is driving me crazy Ava, can you just do it for me," Ray raged, pausing the game and throwing the controller at the couch. Ava erupted in laughter at his response and shook her head playfully.

"You're good at everything except for video games. I'll defeat this dragon for you, but you'll have to get used to killing them yourself. Now, hold my coffee," Ava giggled, handing Ray her coffee, which he held against his chest before taking a sip, rolling his eyes as he did so.

"Seriously, how much milk and sugar did you put in this? It doesn't even taste like coffee," Ray replied, wrinkling his nose in fake disgust. Ava just merely rolled her eyes and picked up the controller. With practiced ease, she unpaused the game and defeated the dragon using her favorite fire and healing spell combo.

"You play this game way to much, don't you," Ray remarked, watching Ava with wide eyes as she killed the dragon with practiced ease. This dragon was the easiest one to kill too, so it only made her laugh at the thought of Ray struggling to fight some of the tougher dragons.

"Well, when Ryan was away I would play this game all the time. It was a wonderful coping mechanism," Ava smiled, no longer feeling the usual stab of pain she did when she mentioned his name. Though she wasn't completely healed from everything, she could at least mention him without wanting to ball her eyes out.

"Who is that," Ray asked, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.

"Ryan is my ex-fiance," Ava answered simply, her memory of that day at the cafe hitting her suddenly. Deciding it was about time she shared everything so she paused Skyrim and turned to face Ray, whose face portrayed pure shock and surprise. She gestured for him to sit down, which he did, and she took her coffee from his hands.

"Allow me to explain. The reason why I moved here was because I was stood up at my wedding by my fiance. He didn't let me know anything, and when I came to our apartment, all of my stuff was outside and Ryan had moved out. I grew up in Mississippi and have been dating Ryan since middle school, so being in the same area and seeing places that would remind me of him was simply too much. Instead, I moved here just to start my life all over again and not be reminded of him," Ava explained, not at all surprised to discover that tears had started running down her face. She didn't try to stop them either, instead, for the first time in months, she allowed herself to cry, and it felt good.

"Ava," Ray whispered, taking her coffee from her and setting it down before bringing her in for a tight hug. Ava began to sob as she wrapped her arms around his neck, soon finding herself in his lap while straddling him. Usually the position would make her blush, but right now, all she wanted to was cry in the comfort of her closest friend's arms.
