Gasping, Ava bolted up right, wincing slightly in pain when she did so. Confusion twisted her features as she looked around, surprised to see that she was on her couch, in her living room, alone, but her confusion quickly turned into pain once more as her head started pounding. Ava groaned as she leaned forward, clutching her head in her hands as her ears started ringing. Why was she feeling like this? More importantly, why was she alone in her living room, especially since the last thing she remembered was Ray playing Skyrim.

The second she thought of his name, Ava froze, all of her memories from what had happened flowing into her mind, filling her with overwhelming fear and horror. His eyes, blood red, the same red that had haunted her dreams the second she fell asleep, and his fangs, the same fangs he used to bite into her neck. Everything Ray did to her, what he made her feel when he bit her, filled her terror.

"He's a monster," Ava found herself whispering, looking up once again, her head no longer pounding after her memories came back. Without thinking, Ava reached up to touch her neck, almost to see if everything that had happened was a dream, and her stomach filled with dread as her fingers brushed against the puncture wounds that he had left behind.

"This can't be happening. It had to have been a dream," she mumbled to herself, slowly standing before pacing around the living room.

"Fucking hell, it wasn't a dream, the scar on my neck proves it, but what was that? Vampires exist and if they do, Lord knows what else is roaming around out there. Who else here knows about their existence. Is that why that couple in the cafe were acting so rude towards him, is it because they knew what he was," Ava pondered aloud, thinking back to the married couple and their kid, their names eluding her at the moment. As she continued to pace, it crossed Ava's mind that she was starting to sound insane, but she didn't care. She needed to find out what the hell happened and whether or not she was going to continue to be friends with Ray.

Everything in her mind practically screamed at her to not speak to him anymore, but Ava couldn't do that. He was her first real friend that she had made herself, and the only person she ever felt safe with. Hell, she wasn't even sure if she could trust Ray after the stunt he pulled, but she had also promised him that nothing would change and she would always be by his side no matter what. Ava was eating those words now.

"I need a drink," she sighed, walking into the kitchen and pouring herself a glass of water. Without any hesitation, she downed her entire glass before filling it again.

"I should have bought some alcohol or something, because I just cannot think about this while sober," Ava complained before emptying her glass once more. What she wouldn't give for some whiskey right now.

Ava glanced at the time, surprised to see that it read three in the morning, which meant that everything with Ray happened roughly three hours ago. Where the hell did he go anyways? All she remembered was that after Ava had, rather desparately, begged him to stay, they fell asleep together on the couch.

Feeling conflicted on whether or not she should call Ray, Ava rubbed her face with her hands, groaning as she did so. Muttering a few swear words under her breath, she finally caved and walked back over to the couch, snatching her phone off of one of the cushions. Before she could chicken out, Ava dialed Ray's phone number, putting the small device up next to her ear.

After a few rings, he picked up, "This is Ray speaking, what can I do for you," his voice sounding tired and groggy.

"You have five minutes to explain what the fuck you did to me and how the hell any of this is possible," Ava snarled, surprising herself with the anger that she suddenly felt. To be fair, it didn't really surprise her that she was angry, after all, Ray did suck her blood, made her feel the most pleasure she had ever felt in her life, and then fucking left.
