Star glanced around Ponyville quickly. She spoke up, "I can look around on my own time, I want to give you a tour!"

"Of where?" Scootaloo asked.

"Of the Everfree Forest!" Star said, leading the way. Once they arrived, the forest sealed them in. Star's horn started glowing as shadows started appearing. These shadows turned into ponies without cutie marks. They almost all looked the same except for a bracelet that told them apart. The Crusaders huddled together in fear while Star welcomed the ponies. Star noticed their fear and frowned. "Don't be scared, they wouldn't hurt anypony." Star said. The Shadow Ponies bowed as Star stepped forward. "These are my new friends, Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle!" Star said. The Shadow Ponies smiled. They turned and ran into the forest. Star looked up as a shadow blocked sunlight. Luna flew down. The Crusaders bowed. "I see you've made some friends." Luna said. Star hugged Luna. "Luna, can you take us to our cave? Pretty please?" Star asked.

Luna smiled, "Ok, but make sure that they don't tell anypony."

"We won't!" Applebloom said.

"We can keep a secret!" Scootaloo said.

"Of course!" Sweetie Belle said. Luna led the fillies to a small cave lit by torches. Paintings were on the wall of Luna and Star as well as the Shadow Ponies. Luna and Star sat at the end of the cave. The Crusaders sat on the opposite of them. "This is were I live." Star said.

"I meet Star here every day and night, making sure that she is alright." Luna said.

"Luna is like the mom that I don't have..." Star said happily. Luna turned to Star. She then looked back at the Crusaders. "Do you mind if I speak with Star in private?" Luna asked.

"Sure!" Scootaloo said. Luna and Star walked outside of the cave. Luna looked at Star sadly, "I think tonight may be the night."

Star's eyes filled with tears, "Why tonight? I just made new friends, like you told me to!"

"I'm sorry Star, I truly am, but we have to do what we need to in order for the kingdom to prosper." Luna said.

"I wish we didn't have to do this." Star mumbled.

"I do too, but it's our duty. We must do this or day will forever chase away the night. Send your friends away and we will get ready." Star nodded. The Crusaders left when Star told them to, respecting their friend. Sadly, their friendship won't last.
