Chapter 4: The Moon Rises

The moon rose on another beautiful night. Star walked through the castle, with her supplies ready. She walked into Celestia's bedroom, with her anti-magic ring at the ready. Celestia was asleep, what they were hoping for. Star creeped up on Celestia. She quickly snapped the ring around Celestia's horn. This woke her up. Celestia was about to call for the guards, but Star covered her mouth, tying rope around her wings. A figure walked into the room. Celestia gasped. Luna's right half was herself, while her other was Nightmare Moon. Luna smiled, "Hello, sister! Happy to see me?"

"What did you do?" Celestia asked after Star removed her hoof.

"I became at peace. Half Hope and half Despair! I'm perfect!" Luna cheered.

"Luna, sister, snap out of it!"

"Luna? I am Lunar Nightmare now!" Lunar slung Celestia over her back. She walked out of the room, having Star hold a hoof over Celestia's mouth. Lunar threw Celestia into the dungeon, slamming the door with a smile. "We will get the others soon." Lunar said, laughing.

Nopony on Equestria knew where Celestia or Luna was. It remained night for quite a while. Star was still busy at work for weeks at a time, making sure that everypony she caught didn't remember what happened. She caught Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon first, since she didn't like either. Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity weren't that hard. Applejack was strong and put up a good fight before she was caught. Rainbow Dash was hard to catch, but a few spells made everything easier. Derpy was fairly easy, but The Doctor fought very well. Star almost couldn't catch him! Trixie overestimated herself and was caught with ease. Shining Armor was very close to stopping Star, but Lunar came to help. The princesses, Twilight and Cadence, were more difficult because they were heavily protected. Lunar took care of them. Then it came to catching the Crusaders, Star's only friends. She walked into their treehouse, where she was greeted. "Hiya, Star! Welcome back!" Applebloom said.

"Let's have some fun!" Sweetie Belle said. Star frowned. She cast a spell and pushed the fillies into a corner. She put a ring around Sweetie Belle's horn and tied down Scootaloo's wings. "What are you doing?" Scootaloo asked, eyes widening in fear.

"Luna has become Lunar Nightmare, so I must fulfill my duties as Princess of Shadows!" Star exclaimed.

"Why..." Applebloom was in shock.

A tear rolled down Star's cheek, "I'm sorry. I don't hate you, but I will do what I must. You won't remember any of this, but I'll feel better telling you this. You were my best friends, and I will never hate you. But, I don't make the rules, I simply play to my intended purpose. Goodbye..." Star knocked out her friends and took them away.

Star put her 16 victims into their rooms and ran away from the castle. The ponies must kill to survive and not get caught. If they do, they will die. If not, everypony but them will die. This will continue until two are left. They will compete in a set of challenges to defeat Lunar and rescue Celestia. If they can get that far. Star will call this game Dangan Ronpa.
