My hands were shaking on the wheel, I couldn't help feel all jittery. He was out, he was free. I could finally see him again. Well technically he wasn't free. Even if he was out of the cell he was not out of the police's minds. They wouldn't stop then to track him down. It was our countries biggest search when he was on the run but now other countries were going to get involved. I just wished me and Gray could nail down some old evidence.
My mind was so distracted I didn't realize I drove through a red light. Cursing to myself I pulled over after hearing sirens. It wasn't long after until an officer knocked on my window. I unrolled it with my license in hand.
"Lucy?" An unfamiliar voice spoke. Looking up I was faced with a man, he had blue hair and big red tattoo falling down his face.
"I'm sorry who are you?" I questioned unsure weather or not to trust this strange man.
"Oh silly me, I'm Jellal, Erza's husband" He replied. I was confused at first but then I remembered the red head with multiple jobs. Natsu had told me her husband was a drug lord.
"Your a cop?" I looked at him strangely. I wasn't trying to be rude but I failed to think before speaking.
"So you've heard a little about me, well yes I'm a cop" he smiled. Maybe Natsu was wrong or maybe he was just a dirty cop. Either way I wasn't ready to trust the stranger.
"Anyways I'm guessing your meeting him, so I won't stop you but don't let this happen again" he tapped on my car. I gave him a half hearted smile before he left. It was a strange encounter and it took me a while to process what had happened. I sat in my car for 5 minutes before finally driving off again.
I was about to turn down the street Gray had told me too until I realized the view in my rear mirror.
Jellal was following me. If he was a cop and his following me. That means his not on my side. I took the wrong turn and ended up doing a u turn. I couldn't loose Jellal's tail.
One hand on the wheel I scrambled through my purse. My hands grasped the cold rectangular device and aggressively pulled it out. Scrolling through contacts I called Gray.
"Gray"
"Whats up why aren't you here"
"I'm being followed" I panicked checking my rear view again. Sure enough the bluenette in the cop car was still there.
"By who?" Gray questioned. I could hear another voice in the background but I couldn't make out what they were saying.
"A cop, he says his name is Jellal" I answered as calmly as possible, that wasn't very calm in the given situation. I could feel the phone slipping out of my hand from all the sweat I was producing.
"Fucking C-grain (idk how to spell it)" Gray cursed.
"Go home Lucy, your in danger as long as his around" Gray ordered me, causing more panic.
"But what about Natsu" I croaked.
"He'll come to you tomorrow" Gray reassured me. It was nice to know I could still see him but tomorrow wasn't soon enough.
"Can he come tonight, at midnight" I begged. The desperation in my voice was present but I didn't care.
"I'll try, Lucy be safe now" Gray worried for me.
"I'll be fine" I ended the call driving home.
When I pulled up in the driveway, the cop car drove past and the blue haired man eyed me. Shrieking a little I headed inside hoping he would leave.
Luckily for me he did after an hour. I still felt unsafe and unsure what to do. I rummaged through my drawers and held my gun close to me until my father returned home.
Midnight.
Midnight.
I would see him again.
